KANJAR

.AND THE TUCHI FAMILY

I ME MYSELF
Today is dushhera .an dushhera always reminds me of
Kanjar
I met Kanjar on my first Job..except at that stage I
thought he was my soulmate. Our names rhymed and the
names of our mom and our sibling started from the same
alphabet.some good times and amazing times
together we got married.
Which is when I landed in vanvas figuratively
speaking.it was a marriage of unequals.i earned more
than him.he had supposedly had more than methough
I never saw any evidence of it ever of-course the outer
faade of house an car were there they actually seemed
like cardboard set on a Bollywood moviean they were
about as real..I saved more than I spent , he spent more
than he earned. My family was independent his
dependent and ..

Then there was this small difference of opinion ..my

hubby and his family thought that what was mine was his
+ what was his was his ( and not mine) AND he was fond
of hookers.I wasn't ..we were a DINK.a state I
desperately wanted to change.well he didn't..n it
takes two to tango
..I disagreed .it is very boring going on a dutch treat
with your husband.and then be expected to foot his
family's bill as well.once we agreed to disagree on this it
was smooth.we lived separately went on separate
holidays ..and split the bills.an the difference of
opinion continued. I saw the world.he saw playboy
heaven .n well to each his or her own
I thought I was in kop bhawan with him ready to sooner or
later manao me..he only agreed with to part of having
multiple wives
Ofcourse like all Kanjar's he had his baggage..mentally
disturbed and suicidal dad.bankrupt n dependent
family.dysfunctional due to supposed losses in
businesses.the kinds that did not prevent them from
organising n asking for 6 day wedding.

An then there was his support system the ever great Tuchi
family..nouveau rich ( potentially through unethical
means) .the kind that will forget your birthday and
expect your presence on each n every family social .n
giving you the silent treatment if you didnt
All in all I was outclassed, outnumbered, outstrategized,
outmanoeuvred..and thrown out at midnightor I
walked out both at different times.the former from
family home the latter from our rented house
Oh well you live an learn.and later you laugh about how
stupid n gullible you can bewell there is always the first
time..so each year at dushhera I burn my Ravan in my
head.and atleast once a year at gurudwara I pray for his
sad demise with the usual bribe of parsad.but RAB ki
apni timelines hai.or may be its an instalment
scheme.washing m/c wali rakhna gharwali nahi( pun
intended)
..an I laugh each time I see any of the tuchis.hum high
society ke log hai(their fav dialogue) .well your son is
married to a adulterous hookern his children (given their
genetics and blood) will probably write a sequel to
kamasutra.kahe ki pedigree.burrrrrrn
