1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:10 pm.


Tanvi Bakshi called the meeting to order at 6:10 pm. A quorum of council members
was present.

2. APPROVAL OF CALL TO ORDER at 6:10pm.


Motion to approve the call to order as presented.
Moved by: WARREN

3. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA
Motion to approve the agenda as presented.
Moved by: JESSE
Seconded by: MUSFARA
CARRIED: Yes
Be it resolved that the Agenda for the Sixth meeting of the GHSA
Committee 2015-2016 is approved as amended.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE Fifth MEETING OF 2015-2016
Motion to approve the minutes from the Fifth Meeting of the GHSA Committee
2015-2016 on October 7th 2015 as presented.

CARRIED: Yes
Be it resolved that the GHSA Committee approves the minutes of the
Fifth Meeting of the 2015-2016.
5. DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST
No conflict of interest was declared.
6. Business:
Welcome to new Media rep
Went around the table and introduced ourselves to Alessia.
7. Executive Report
a) President
Congrats to everyone on their current work with events and SMOM

b) Vice President of Activities


We have to vote for the winners of the pumpkin concert, all GHSA members
that created pumpkins will not be eligible to win the contest
Every GHSA member will be voting for the best pumpkin, votes will be tallied
and the winners will be chosen based on the number of votes they receive
Pumpkin # 6 wins 1st, pumpkin #5 wins 2nd, pumpkin #5 wins 3rd
c) Vice President of Communications
Next bi-weekly email goes out on November 3rd

Please update and send Tanvi your event posters, council members to make
sure that the posters are in .jpeg format
d) Vice President of Finance
Laura to facilitate meeting with manager of bookstore
In the meantime, council members are to keep an updated list of people
interested

8. Program Representative Report:


a) Business
15 tickets sold for e-zone event thus far, targeting 30 students
What is the process of returning ticket? Laura will need to be contacted and
she will have to handle that refund

b) Early Childhood
Could GHSA members help with the event by sitting outside the GHSA office
and collect batteries?
Email will be sent out to see who can volunteer their time to help with the
event
Email will be sent out to all ECE students to let them know about the event
Students are able to donate used batteries as well
Tanvi suggestion: put a note in the sign-in binder so we can keep track of
students who donated and how much
We are not sending the batteries to India, rather we will be sending the
batteries to a middle man who will be able to convert the batteries to money
which will be converted to food for children in India

c) Family and Community Social Services


Not present.

d) Justice Studies
Planning a trip to a correctional facility but are currently trying to locate one
27 students attended event, only criticism was that the bus was late

e) Kinesiology
Dodge-ball tourney for students on Nov 13th, may be pushed forward at this
time
Credit card is required to put a deposit on the event, frank should be emailed
due to Laura being on vacation

f) Media Studies
Event is live in eventbrite and 6 tickets have been sold thus far
Representatives to meet with program head within the week

g) Psychology
Planned to do escape room but was misquoted, the event will be cancelled

Ripleys Aquarium will be the new event, will be submitted for approval to
host event on Nov 16th

9. Other Business

Event Planning

Jesse recommends collecting some sort of fee to get commitment from


students when it comes to event registration

Transition

Students have some concerns with the voting procedure, would have wanted
it in person
Liana: the way the constitution works is for students to be present for voting
It passed, nobody opposed
Liana: GHSA will no longer exist after end of terms, when general elections
come up the new VP position will be appointed by vote
