“summer sleepers” that have flown under
the radar of blockbusters like Shrek the
Third and Spiderman 3:
Once (Rated R): A modern day musical set on the streets of
Dublin. Amazing soundtrack helps tell a real love story.
Metacritic.com score: 88.
Chalk (Rated PG-13): “This is a mockumentary filmed here
in Austin.” Director Mike Akel provides a rare and realistic
teacher’s perspective into the absurd, provocative and
occasionally volatile world of public education. Lots of
laughs. Metacritic.com score: 71.
Away from Her (Not Rated): Julie Christie with a powerful
performance as a woman with Alzheimer’s; also stars
Olympia Dukakis. Metacritic.com score: 88.
Black Book (Rated R): Set in Holland during World War II,
this is the story of a Jewish singer who joins the resistance
against the Nazis. Metacritic.com score: 71.
10 Questions for the Dalai Lama (Not Rated): The title says it
all. Excellent presentation on the life of this holy man and the
politics and history surrounding Tibet. Very educational. No
Metacritic.com score.
To recognize Beverly’s contributions
to the University Catholic Center as
the “matriarch” of our faith commu-
nity for over four decades, a memorial
has been placed in the Atrium. The
placing of her portrait near the Micah
6 food collection bin is intentional.
Bev was passionate about feeding the
hungry. Please take a moment to cele-
brate her life by bringing a canned good to the UCC on Sun-

Join us this summer at Austin State School
Come join us at our services at the Austin State School this
summer! It is always great for friends to sit with us during the
summer, when we can easily attend both services. Services
start at 9:40 a.m. promptly and end by 10:00 so we can get to
the UCC in time for Mass. No training is necessary, just come
join us, the folks at the school miss their old friends! Services
are: June 24, July 8, July 22, July 29, August 5 and August
19. Hope to see you there!

Casa Marianella is an emergency shelter serving
Our Return of Gifts to God
immigrants and refugees in Austin, originally started
by the Diocese of Austin. Casa Marianella sleeps 21
men and seven women and children each night. Under
$3,611
regular circumstances, a resident is given one month to stay at
$3,378
the house during which time they become self-sufficient and
find employment. The residents primarily come from Latin
America, the majority from Mexico. Volunteers are always

Micah 6 Food Pantry
The Micah 6 Food Pantry is really grateful for all the
grocery bags you have been bringing, however, this
spring has been a very busy spring at the food bank
and they are in need of all the basic staples of food. Spa-
ghetti, macaroni, rice, sauce and canned vegetables are espe-
cially needed. Your help is gratefully appreciated and
needed. Please be generous. We have to apply the words of
Chapter 6 of the Book of Micah in our neighborhood: "do
justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God."
Graduate Students & Professionals: UGAP
University Graduates and Professionals (UGAP) is a group of
post-college age people. We share and live the love of Christ
in community through worship, faith formation, social
service, spiritual development and fellowship. We meet at 7
pm. on Tuesdays in the Mother Teresa Room.
