Gann Planetary Lines

Gann Planetary Lines

Overview
The ability to convert planetary angles to price is widely believed by many Gann experts to be one of
the key areas of W.D. Ganns planetary studies. The Gann Planetary Lines (GPL) tool converts the
angle of a selected planet to a price which is then plotted on the chart and repeated every 360
degrees:

For example, if Mercury is at 300 degrees on April 17th then the GPL will be plotted at $30.00 on that
date (300 x the chart's price unit, in this case $0.1), and the next line at 360 degrees i.e. $36 away at
$66, then $102, etc.
Gann Planetary Lines also allows harmonics off the angle, meaning that other angles such as Trines,
Squares or anything user-defined can be plotted.

Actions & Properties

Actions

Market Analyst Knowledge Base - http://wiki.market-analyst.com/

Add to Tool Bar: Click this action to add the selected GPL to your custom tool bar.
Apply Settings to All: When multiple GPLs have been applied to a chart, page or workbook, this
action can be used to apply the settings of the one selected to other instances of the tool. This is a
great time saver if an adjustment is made to the tool - such as hiding or adding harmonics - as this
allows all the other GPLs in the chart, page or entire workbook to be updated instantly.
Copy Tool: Allows you to copy the selected GPL, which can then be pasted onto a different chart
window.
Delete: Delete the GPL from the chart.
Move to Back: This option allows the selected item to be positioned behind the chart.
Move to Front: This option allows the selected item to be positioned in front of the chart.
Restore Default Settings: Click this action if you have adjusted the default settings of the GPL, and
wish to return to the standard properties originally installed with Market Analyst.
Save Settings as Default: If you have adjusted any of the Properties (colour, for example) you can
save the adjustments as your new default setting. Each time the GPL is applied to a chart, the tool will
display using the new settings.

Gann Planetary Lines

Tool Name: Allows you to change the name of the tool, as displayed in the Structure Panel.
Use Chart's Price Unit: By default the price unit of the chart is used in the tool calculation. Untick
the box to manually adjust the value in the Price Unit property.
Price Unit: This option is available when the Use Chart's Price Unit box is unticked (see above). Enter
a new value to manually determine what one unit of price is equal to in the tool's calculation (eg 0.1).
Planet: Use this option to select the planetary body (e.g. planet, midpoint, averages, asteroid) used
in the calculation of the lines.
Geo/Helio/Sidereal: Allows you to choose the angles based on the geocentric, heliocentric, or
sidereal view.
Coordinate Type: Changes the planetary positions based on ecliptic or equatorial coordinates.
Harmonics: Allows for user-defined harmonic angles to be displayed off the plotted GPL, such Trine
(harmonic of 3), Square (harmonic of 4), etc.
Direction: Allows for the planetary angle line to be plotted in forward, reversed or both directions.
Planetary Line Style: Change the style, width, colour and transparency of the Gann Planetary Line.
Harmonic Line Style: Change the style, width, colour and transparency of the GPL's harmonic lines.
Tool Transparency: Use this slider bar to adjust the transparency of the tool. Moving the slider to
the left will increase the transparency of the tool.
Visible: Un-tick this checkbox to hide the tool from the chart.
