15] Government had constituted a Committee on Finance Sector Reforms (CFSR) headed by Dr.
Raghuram Rajan which has submitted its report to the Government. The CFSR had also, ineralia, made recommendation on the issue of provision of interest free finance on a larger scale,
including through the banking system.
16] The Government proposes to set up an autonomous Bank Board Bureau to improve the

manufacturing activity and capital goods' offtake improved during the month.

37] Former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy was sentenced Saturday by a Cairo court to
death the latest judicial setback for the ousted leader. He was convicted in a 2011 prison break.
Morsy's name, along with those of more than 100 other defendants, will be passed to the
Grand Mufti, the highest legal authority in Egypt, who will have the final say on their sentence.
The verdict will be confirmed June 2.
38] Upgrading India and Mongolia's relationship from Comprehensive to "Strategic
Partnership", Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a credit line of 1 billion US dollars to
Mongolia to expand its economic capacity and infrastructure.

decades of confined solitude that's the story of Aruna Shanbaug a woman who spent most part
of her life ridden in a hospital bed. Aruna was a victim of a sexual assault at her workplace in
1973.

44] In the Union Budget, 2015, an increase in the rate of Service Tax from 12% to 14% had been
proposed from a date to be notified. The Finance Bill, 2015 has since been enacted and the
Central Government has notified 1st June, 2015 as the date from which the rate of 14% would
become applicable. The provisions levying Education Cess and Secondary and Higher Education
Cess would also cease to have effect from same date i.e. 1st June, 2015, as the same would be
subsumed in the service tax rate of 14%. Certain other changes have also been notified with
effect from 1st June, 2015. However, the date of giving effect to the provisions relating to
imposition of a Swachh Bharat cess on all or any taxable service will be done in due course.

Expressway near Mathura on Thursday as part of its trials to use national highways and civil

62] Digital Locker 1,00,000 Mark in 100 Days
Digital Locker is one of the key initiatives under the Digital India vision, which is aimed at
eliminating the usage of physical documents. Digital Locker will allow various agencies to push
the documents into the Digital Locker of citizens mapped to their Aadhaar Number. It also
allows citizens to upload their own electronic documents with or without digitally signing them
using the e-sign facility allowing them to store all such documents for posterity.

inaugurated the New Bank Note Paper Line of 6,000 metric tonnes capacity at Security Paper
Mill, Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh. The Bank Note Paper Line in Mysore with 12,000 Metric
Tonnes capacity is expected to be commissioned by the year end. The government is expected
to save foreign exchange worth 1,500 crore rupees by commissioning two new bank paper lines
in Hoshangabad and Mysore for indigenously printing Indian currency The production of the
Bank Note paper from these two units will reduce the import considerably. This will also reduce
possibility of diversion of the paper supplied by the foreign suppliers to the other destinations
for the purpose of generating the fake currency.
