INFORMATION BROCHURE FOR RECRUITMENT OF TEACHER

EDUCATORS (DIRECT)
Online Applications are invited from eligible candidates for direct
recruitment to the post of Teacher Educators in different DIETs / BIETs of
the state. The date of submission of Online Application Form is from
25.01.2015 to 20.02.2015.
1.

No. of Vacancies : 123 (Out of the above vacancies 61 posts shall


be filled up by the candidates of Science stream (30 posts from PCM
group and 31 posts from Other Science group) and 62 posts by the
candidates of Arts stream.

Eligibility Criteria :

Age : A candidate for the above post of Teacher Educator should be


within the age-group of 21-35 years (as per Personnel Policy of
DIETs) as on 25.01.2015. Age relaxation shall be allowed up to 05
years in case of SC / ST / Women / OBC / SEBC candidates and 10
years for PH candidates. However, contractual employees who have
completed at least one year of continuous service in Government
Teacher Training Institutions shall be allowed relaxation of upper
age limit up to 45 years in case they apply for the post. For Exserviceman category candidates, the relaxation of age shall be
followed as per State Government norm.

Educational Qualification :
M.Ed. with 55% marks
Or
MA in Education with at least 55% marks and B.Ed. with 55% marks
Or
Masters Degree in any school subject with 55% marks and B.Ed. with
55% marks

Other Eligibility Requirements : (a) must be a citizen of India


(b) must have passed HSC or an equivalent or any higher
education with Odis as a language subject or must have Odia as a
medium of examination in non-language subjects at HSC or
equivalent examination (c) must be of sound mind (d) must not be
having more than one spouse living (e) must furnish No
Objection Certificate from the employer, if in service.

Emoluments and Service Conditions :

The Teacher Educators shall be appointed on contractual basis in


the pay scale of Rs.9300 34800/- with the Grade Pay of Rs.4200/- (PB
2). The emoluments and service conditions of Teacher Educators shall be
guided as per the provision of the GA Department Notification No.
1147/Gen dated 17.01.2014.

Reservation :

The provision of the Orissa Reservation and Vacancies in Posts and


Services Act, 1975 and other reservation provisions, as prescribed by
Government from time to time shall be followed. Up to 33 1/3% of total
posts of each category shall be reserved for women candidates.
Reservation for Physically Handicapped persons shall be made as per
provision prescribed by Government from time to time.
For reservation for SEBC candidates, clarification issued by ST / SC
Development Department vide Resolution No. 17025 dated 24.06.2014 to
be followed.

How to Apply :

Online application form is available in the Directorate of TE and


SCERT web-site (www.scertodisha.nic.in). The candidates shall have to
fill up the online application with required information. After submitting
the Online Application Form he/she shall take the print out and attach
self-attested copies of certificates, marksheets and other document and
sent to the Directorate of TE and SCERT, Unit 4, Odisha, Bhubaneswar
(before 25.02.2015) along with the Bank Draft / Demand Draft /
Bankers Cheque of Rs.200.00 (Rupees Two Hundred) only (except SC / ST /
PH category candidate) towards processing fees, to be drawn in favour of
the Director, TE and SCERT, Odisha payable at Bhubaneswar.
Directorate shall not be responsible for any postal delay.

Selection :

Only such candidates who qualify as per eligibility criteria shall


be considered.
Candidates will be selected by the Selection Committee
constituted by Government under the chairmanship of the
Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of School and
Mass Education, Government of Odisha as per the selection
criteria fixed by the Selection Committee.
Those candidates who will be shortlisted as per career
assessment shall be called for viva-voce test.

Points to Note :

Incomplete application form will be summarily rejected.


The candidates furnishing fake certificates / marksheet shall
be disengaged immediately and will be liable for appropriate
legal action.
Candidates obtaining degree from outside Universities shall
have to produce authenticated proof of equivalency and NCTE
recognition in support of their educational qualification at the
time of verification failing which they will not be eligible to
appear in viva-voce test.
Candidates are required to produce all certificates /
documents, in original, in support of age, educational
qualifications, experience and caste at the time of verification
failing which they will not qualify for viva-voce test.
A candidate furnishing certificates, marksheets with grades
and grade-point shall also furnish numerical equivalence of
grades / grade-points from the examining bodies.
Physically Handicapped candidates shall be engaged only after
their cases are cleared by the Appellate Medical Board
constituted for the purpose vide W&CD Department
Notification No. 16430/WCD dated 06.07.2011.
