I- Introduction
In many situations, particularly when people are concerned about security, there is a
tendency to over-light a park, plaza, street, or other public space. But in fact, too much lighting
can be just as bad as too little lighting. The key to developing a good plan is to relate lighting to
the evening functions of a particular space, because in the larger view, street lighting is more
than just a technical requirement, a security need, or a design element. It can be thought of and
utilized in terms of how the type, placement, and wattage affect how a street is perceived and
used.
In recent years, various types of equipment have become more intelligent. In this
research, we propose an intelligent lighting system for providing the necessary illuminance to a
desired location; actually construct a fundamental experiment system based on that concept; and
verify the effectiveness of the newly developed control method. Verification tests were
conducted using an optimization algorithm specialized for lighting control, and the results
showed that the various illuminance sensors converged to the preset target illuminance. We also
confirmed that the system can respond adaptively to the movement of illuminance sensors and
contingencies like lighting malfunctions.
In this research, we resolve these kinds of problems, and propose a new intelligent
lighting system which conserves energy, and controls illumination to provide the appropriate
illuminance at the appropriate locations. We also actually construct a fundamental experiment
system based on this concept, and verify the effectiveness of the newly developed control
method.

II-Statement of the Problem

In recent years, Enverga has been one of the leading Universities at Quezon, that's why
lot of students dreamt of becoming a certified Envergan, due to this reason, more students are
enrolled. Therefore, greater security is needed by the School for the students as well as the
teachers.
Many students, especially the college ones are enrolled for a subject at night; they have to
go to their respective rooms for their classes. Although there are lights along the hall way, there
are still parts that are unlighted, best example is the stairways at the WLE building which is
located at the entrance of the building near the Comfort room of the boys. The stairs are made of
metal and it is also stiff. When it rained, few waters are formed on some parts of the stairs and
the stairs become slippery which may be a cause of an accident.
Another thing is, after School, students and teachers have to walk from the gate of the
campus to the main road. It seems safe in the broad daylight but when the moon shines at the
sky, the path becomes dark and dangerous. Some students and teachers end their classes and

work at night and many of them have to wait for jeepneys or buses along the side of the over
pass. As they wait, they have to depend on the light of the vehicles passing by. No lights nearby
so there will be a chance for an unwanted situation to happen.
One more safety concern is another way from the entrance of the main gate going to the
second gate outside the campus. Some students have to walk at that location going to their
boarding houses. Most of them are females and it is very dangerous for a woman to walk in the
dark alone.

III-Objectives
We propose to have an Illuminating program or lighting system at Enverga Candelaria. In this
program, we will achieve the following two goals:
(1) Maintain the safety of the students and teachers in and outside the school premises.
(2) To help the students study well in their night classes not worrying darkness in their way
home.
Prevention is better than cure, therefore in order to avoid accidents and incidents we have to
make further actions, starting in putting lights at a particular area. One example is the metal stairs
at the WLE building, if lighted, students will be safe going up or down even when the stairs are
wet and slippery because, as they can now see the stairs, they will not miss the next step and they
may now look where the wet part is and avoid slippery areas. Another is in the outside of the
campus, more accidents can be prevented and more lives will be saved as they can now see the
paths they are taking and they will be alerted if danger are in their ways. The main purpose of
this proposal is the safety of the students and teachers.
Night classes are not like the morning classes that after class when you go home, you may freely
walk outside and wait for jeeps and buses. In the night classes, students or even teachers tend to
think or worry for their safety in walking in the dark outside. In this case, their focus in their
works and studies may be affected and will be set aside, for their minds are in the worrying state.
In this proposal, we aim to make their hearts and minds at ease in walking outside 'cause they
know that there are lights guiding them and making them safe.
IV-Technical Approach
In this proposal, we have two goals; maintain the safety of the students and teachers in and
outside the school premises and to help the students study well in their night classes not worrying
darkness in their way home. By having light inside and outside the campus, were assure that
those students and teachers are all of safe until they already go home. Nowadays, accidents
happened unexpectedly especially at night and to those place that are unlighted. For the

expenses, we are planning to conduct the project in order to meet the requirements that are set
out in the solicitation.

VII- Conclusion
Therefore we conclude that a big help will be given to the students and teachers going in
their way home. Through this simple project, lots of people not just the Envergans will be
benefited especially to those children, women and elders that are passing by the projected areas.
More importantly, less crime will be committed and accidents will be avoided.
