BHLER DRY SYSTEM

GUARANTEED DRY ELECTRODES

www.boehler-welding.com

Foreword

BHLER WELDING has over the last 80 years established

a reputation to consistently offer the most economical
complete solutions for customers and their industries.
In addition to the well-balanced range of products for special
applications used in todays process industries, the use of
optimal packaging is becoming a prerequisite. Since 1989, our
electrodes have therefore been encased in a hermetically
sealed packaging. This ensures dry electrodes that can be
welded directly from the pack, immediately and without redrying, even under the most adverse conditions.
This format of packaging has established itself as the standard
particularly in the pipeline and process industry.
BHLER WELDING understands that there is a demand

also for vacuum packed electrodes in smaller quantities

DRY SYSTEM
The DRY SYSTEM form of packaging consists of pre
baked electrodes placed in a sturdy plastic tray which is
shrink-wrapped under vacuum pressure in a water
impermeable aluminium composite film.
Our standard assortment of electrodes available in the
DRY SYSTEM vacuum sealed pack is continually adapted
for the latest requirements for use in the different process
industries.
The BHLER WELDING DRY SYSTEM offers the complete
package Increasing our customers efficiency both on site
and in the workshop.

Ready for Welding

BHLER DRY SYSTEM

Ready for Welding
Guaranteed dry and ready-to-use electrodes
The BHLER DRY SYSTEM is todays efficient alternative,
providing oven fresh, dried ready to use electrodes
straight from the packet to the weld, this does not only offer
controlled processing but elevates the need to undertake
unnecessary on site re-drying process.

Extended operating times are guaranteed when using the

BHLER DRY SYSTEM this is because we offer moisture
resistant, basic covered unalloy and low alloyed electrodes,
allowing our electrodes to offer a extended life of up
to 9 hours after opening the BHLER DRY SYSTEM.

The conservation of the original dry state of the electrodes

during transport and storage is achieved through multilayered,
water vapour impermeable, aluminium-plastic composite films,
in which the electrodes are automatically shrink-wrapped
under vacuum pressure and quality controlled immediately
following manufacture.
The vacuum packet serves as a guarantee indicator to the
welder that his respective pack is of impeccable quality and
ready for use.

This efficient packaging solution eliminates the need for

re-drying on site it also eliminates the risks associated to
pore or hydrogen induced cold crack formation from
electrodes that are too moist.

BSGA

We understand the importance of welding efficiently whilst at

the same time the quality of the weld in the process industry is
paramount. The BHLER DRY SYSTEM pack offers the very
best packaging solution for BHLER WELDING quality products.

Guarantee
Under observation of the processing guidelines, which
we will be pleased to send you upon application, the
BHLER DRY SYSTEM ensures for the relevant basic
covered non-alloy and low-alloy electrodes a diffusible

hydrogen content of < 5 ml/100 g weld metal according to

EN ISO 3690 or < 4 ml/100 g according to AWS A4.3-93
within a processing time of 9 hours after opening of the pack.

Simple to use
Please observe the following:

To avoid damaging the vacuum-sealed packs, neither covering

boxes nor individual packs should be thrown.
Before opening the pack, check that the vacuum seal serving
as a guarantee indicator is still intact.
Only open the packs at the time of use by cutting or tearing
the film on the side visibly clamped taut.

To avoid the formation of condensation, the pack temperature should be acclimated to the ambient temperature prior
to opening.
Take out the electrodes individually without removing
the film.

The specifications in regard to the type and application of our products are only
for the users information. The data specified for the mechanical properties always
refer to the weld metal alone under observance of the applicable standards. In the
weld joint, the weld metal properties are influenced, among other factors, by the
base metal, the welding position and the welding parameters. A guarantee of suitability for a certain type of application requires an explicit written agreement in
each individual case.
