Voters in East Baton Rouge Parish will cast ballots


Saturday in runoffs for statewide offices, including
governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general as
well as one seat on the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and four state representative positions. In
addition to a parishwide proposition, nine others are also
on the ballot for various purposes in smaller election

Fire Protection District No. 1 Proposition


Shall the Fire Protection District No. 1 of the Parish of East Baton Rouge,
Louisiana (the District), under the provisions of Article VI, Section 19 of
the 1974 Louisiana Constitution, Section 1502.1 of Title 40 of the Louisiana

Fire Protection District 6 Proposition


Shall the Fire Protection District 6, Parish of East Baton Rouge, State of
Louisiana (the District), under Article VI, Sections 19, 30 and 32 of the
Louisiana Constitution, Part I of Chapter 7 of the Louisiana Revised
Statutes of 1950, and La. R.S. 40:1501 et seq., as amended, and other constitutional and statutory authority supplemental thereto, be authorized to
renew the levy and collection, and adopt a resolution providing for such
renewal of the levy and collection, of the ad valorem property tax of five (5)
mills (the Tax) in each calendar year on all property subject to taxation
in the District for a period of nine (9) years from and including the year
2017 to and including the year 2025, which estimated amount of such Tax
reasonably expected to be collected from such levy and collection is approximately $132,055.20 for each entire year of the levy,
and shall the avails or proceeds of said Tax be used enYES

in crime prevention and adding to the security of District residents by providing for an increase in the presence of law enforcement personnel in the
District and serving the needs of the residents of the District by funding
beautification and improvements for the overall betterment of the District
for a period of fifteen years, beginning in 2016 and ending in 2030, in an
amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150) per year and be authorized not less than three years after approval of the parcel fee to increase the parcel fee one time provided the increased parcel fee does not
exceed Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250) per year, as provided in Act 127
(2015) enacting La. R.S. 33:9097.25, with the proceeds of

one time during each subsequent calendar year not to exceed ten percent
of the amount of the fee imposed during the previous calendar year provided the amount of the increased parcel fee does not exceed Three Hundred Dollars ($300) per year, as provided in Act 341 (2015) enacting La. R.S.
33:9097.25 with the proceeds of the parcel fee (after deducting administrative costs) to be used to aid in crime prevention, to enhance security within
the District, to provide for an increase in security patrols in the District and to provide for the overall betYES
