JOURNAL

WEEK #6
STUDY SKILL

Hello Miss Laura, sorry I dint came to class on Monday, but I couldnt get
here to Mazatln on time, because we went to el rancho to visit some
family there and we couldnt make it back on time. Anyhow for some
reason I feel exhausted, I dont know why this week wasnt the most
productive for me in school. Hopefully I can catch up quickly.
Well on Tuesday in history class we talk and watch videos about
REVOLTS AGAINST TURQUIN, LARS PORSENNA, and SEVERAL WARS ETC.
On Wednesday for study skills we started the class by passing in front of
the class and presenting our learning style, which from what I saw in my
classmates they used a bit of one of each learning modalities, for
differences activities.
Later in that class you mention CAROL TOMLINSON, and you told us to
research or look at that name for free, so I did some research and found
that she is an interesting person that has a career as an educator that
includes 21 years as a public school teacher, she is a reviewer for eight
journals and has authored over 200 articles, books, and other
professional development materials. Her books on differentiation,
translated into twelve languages, include how to Differentiate Instruction
in a Mixed Ability Classroom, The Differentiated Classroom: Responding
to the Needs of All Learners, and Leadership for Differentiated Schools
and Classrooms. She has recently co-authored a book with noted
educational expert Jay McTighe titled Integrating Differentiated
Instruction and Understanding by Design: Connecting Content and Kids.
I read a bit of THE DIFFERENTIATION thing and I understood that it refers
to students who have different needs in classroom and what teachers
can do to help them keep up with the rest of the class. Well hopefully we
can have more info about this.
Miss Laura which you a great weekend!
