2. ASSESSMENT DESCRIPTIONS AND MARKING GUIDES


Assessment Task 1; Mid-Test: 7%
You will be required to sit in the first hour of week 4s Lesson
You will have 6 multiple choice questions (3 marks) from chapters 1, 13 & 14 of Pride & Ferrel
(2012); and very short answers (4 marks) from chapters 4 and 6 of Samson & Daft (2012).

Assessment Task 2; On-going forum participation: 10%


Forum questions are put on the moodle on weekly basis and will be left opened for only a fortnight.
For example week ones forum question will be opened on Monday of week one and will be closed
on Monday of week three. Final marks will be accumulated in week 12 and recorded in grading
system in the ams before final examination.
You are required to read the weeks lecture materials and text books than answer the on-line forum
questions completely with practical answers wherever possible... You are welcome to comment
constructively of your peers answers too.

Assessment Task 3; Group work has Part A and B


Please note that preferably groups of 3-4 to be formed in week three where names to be given to
tutor.
Part A(Task 3) : Presentation: 8%
Please note that you are advised to have your presentation in power-point form where Part A (i) is
the critique of the peer review article by Peltier and Naidu (2012); and Part A (ii) is desk-top
research of companys information analysis, synthesis and evaluation with marketing and
management theories, comparing critical concerns of Peltier and Naidus hypothesis to real social
network practices and reflection of how social network is used and managed in an Australian
Organisation. Please remember to develop original power-point with in-text slides references
including a reference list. Remember that straight reading or mere lecture styles will not score a
pass. Your group presentation is needed to be interactive and plan critically to engage audience
participation. Provide some handouts to the class. Then upload power-point onto the link provided
in MITs ams moodle
Part B(Task4): Research Written Report: 25%
Firstly you are required to critically analyse the article by Peltier and Naidu (2012) in a cooperative,
collaborative and equitable form where all members of your group need to work together to
complete your research written report. There must be evidence that each member of the group
has contributed to the work of the group.
Secondly you are required to research practically which Australian businesses are using e-marketing
& e-management to market and manage their business. The project requires that the group analyse
and comment which of the theoretical factors from the article and from your weekly learnings are
being applied by businesses in real life that of e-marketing and e-management. Please demonstrate
evidence/s of performance business growth if applicable to your practical research analysis.
Students need to provide at least 7 academic journal articles inclusive of the article that the group
has analysed to complete this researched and practical assignment.
Note: Assessment Criteria for Parts A & B will be uploaded on your moodle platform in week 5.
After presentation of Part A and Part B of assignment 3, you are required to uploaded on MITs ams
moodle within week 11 or towards end of week 11 before end of week 12

Assessment Task 5; Final Examination: 50%


You will be provided revision of critical chapters and please check your examination timetable
towards the end of the summer semester. Final Examination Due after Week 12, during exam
period .Weighting is 50 % of marks and will be a 3 hour closed book written examination. There is a
hurdle for students in the final exam i.e MA students must obtain at least 45% of your final exam.
