Brilliant Study Centre proudly announces the following two year integrated programmes - one in
medical stream and the other in engineering stream - for those who are studying in Class X during the year
2014-15 and are eager to become super-achievers.
MEDICAL STREAM
This course is meant for those who set their target as pre-medical as soon as they opt for science
stream in their Plus Two course.. Medical entrance exams in India are of two types: viz, entrance exams on an
all-India basis as well as entrance exams on state level. These exams are intended to provide admissions to
the various medical colleges across India. Some national level institutions of excellence like the AIIMS
conduct their own entrance exams. For the above-mentioned exams we provide different categories of
coaching programmes.
A) Special AIIMS and JIPMER batches
These batches are intended for students who wish to appear for the entrance test of AIIMS (All India
Institute of Medical Sciences) and JIPMER. This programme also gives emphasis and equal weightage to
Kerala CEE and AIPMT (All India Premedical Test). Selection to these batches is based on a screening test.
B) Kerala Medical and AIPMT Batches
These batches are intended for students who wish to appear for the AIPMT (All India Premedical
Test) and Kerala medical entrance exam. Selection to these batches is on the basis of class X marks or
grades.
ENGINEERING STREAM
Students who are passionate about technology and machines can become engineers by cracking one
of the engineering entrance exams. These exams are also conducted on all-India basis as well as on state level.
For the above-mentioned exams we provide different categories of coaching programmes.
A) IIT (JEE Advanced)
It is a target-cum-foundation course for students who wish to pursue studies in IIT / NIT / IISER /
IIST / BITS and other national institutes of excellence. Selection to this batch is based on a screening test.
B) Kerala CEE and JEE Main
This programme gives emphasis to Kerala engineering entrance exam, all-India Engineering entrance
exams (JEE Main) and other national level tests. Selection to this batch is on the basis of Class X marks or
grades.

This is an Integrated two year +2 programme in STATE / ICSE syllabus

Venue : K.E. ENGLISH MEDIUM HSS, MANNANAM, KOTTAYAM

Entire School classes (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) and entrance classes
are handled by Brilliant faculty.
Admission - Based on screening test on 1st February 2015 (Sunday)

School Admission : Based on the above screening test

Eligibility students of Class X during 2014-15 who expect high marks/grade in the
Board Exam.

Classes commence in the 4th week of April 2015

Class timing - Monday through Saturday 8.00 am to 3.30 pm. If required, classes may be
extended to 4.30 pm

Sunday will be holiday, but if required, classes may be conducted on selected Sundays as
well.

No extra tuition is required for the students taking admission in these batches.

Hostel facility is available on request

Classes will be conducted from Monday to Friday after school classes on Saturdays,
selected Sundays, public holidays and during Vacations.
No extra tuition is required for the students taking admission in these batches.
Eligibility - Class X studying students during 2014-15 and expect high marks/grade in
board exam.
Selection : Screening test on 01-02- 2015.
School Admission : Students should write the aptitude test conducted by the respective
schools
Class commence in the 1st week of May 2015

SCREENING TEST

Test Date : Sunday 1st February 2015

Duration: 3 hours (9.30 am to 12.30 pm / 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm)

Thodupuzha and Kanjirappally.

Online Registration starts on : 24.11.2014

Last date of online registration : 20.01.2015

Candidates should furnish all the required details while filling up the online form. After successful
submission of the data, user ID and password will be generated. It will be used to complete the
remaining steps of the application form and is also required for all future correspondence. For subsequent logins, candidate will be able to login directly with his/her respective system generated application number and password.

There will be another screening test exclusively for the students outside Kerala on 04-04-2014

Examination Fee Rs 200/-

Last date of fee remittance : 23.01.2015

Payment can be made by remitting the fee in cash in the South Indian Bank through e-chalan generated during the online filling the application form.

Payment can also be made by way of DD drawn in favour of Brilliant Study Centre Pala payable at

SCREENING TEST SYLLABUS

The screening test is based on Science ( Phy+Che+Bio) and Maths of Class X.

Besides there will be a few questions based on Mental Ability and Reasoning.

Questions will be of objective type and incorrect answers will be penalised.

The detailed syllabus is given below:

1)

Physics : Motion, Force, Gravitation, Work, Energy & Power, Light, Sound, The Human Eye and
the Colourful World, Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Electric Current, Electric Circuits, Resistance &
Ohms Law, Household Circuits, Electro Magnetism.

2)

Chemistry : Atoms, Molecules and Mole Concept, Chemical Reaction & Equations, Acid, Base &
Salt, Periodic Classification, Metals & Non Metals, Organic Chemistry, Carbon and its Compounds.

3)

Mathematics : Number Systems. Polynomials. Quadratic Equations, Linear Equations in two

variables, Trigonometry. Co-ordinate Geometry. Geometry, Statistics and Probability, Circles, Mensuration, Surface Area and Volume, Heights and Distances

4)

Biology : Cell, Tissues, Respiration, Reproduction in Plants and Animals, Transportation in Plants and
Animals, Control and Coordination, Heredity and Evolution

5)

Mental Ability and Reasoning (Verbal & Non Verbal Classification)

RESULTS
List of selected candidates will be published in our website at 8.00 pm. on 10th February 2015.

A common scholarship list will be published for all categories

Separate selection list will be published for Category I and a Common selection list will be published
for Categories II & III

In case of a tie, ie., when two or more candidates obtain equal marks inter-se merit of such candidates shall be decided in the following order:
1) Rank list for IIT batch
Resolution by marks obtained in Mathematics in the test-Candidates securing higher marks will be
given better rank.
Resolution by marks obtained in Science in the test-Candidate obtaining higher marks will be given
better rank.
Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative-marks. Candidates having higher
absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
2) Rank list for AIIMS batch
Resolution by marks obtained in Science in the test - Candidates obtaining higher marks will be given
better rank.
Resolution by marks obtained in Maths in the test - Candidate securing higher marks will be given
better rank.
Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks-Candidates having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.

SCHOLARSHIPS
We announce fabulous scholarship schemes worth a total amount of Rs. 1.3 crores for meritorious
students. Only the students who continue their studies at our centres are eligible for the scholarships. Separate
scholarships are awarded for engineering and medical streams.

We provide three scholarship tests to the students admitted in the special batches.
A) Based on the scholarship test in the first year June 2015 (Based on Class X syllabus)
B) Based on the IIT/AIIMS model test at the end of the Ist year
C) Based on the Kerala Engg./Medical model test at the end of the Ist year
A student can avail only one scholarship form Type I and IIA and one from IIB and IIC
