Pianist, Composer, Conductor and Songwriter with a singular

passion for music....

Born December 28, 1987 and raised in Providence, RI, Sarah began her
classical training on the piano at five years old. There she began to explore the
world of classical music guided by Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, Khachaturian, and
more, but even at a young age, she would also find herself influenced by
contemporary music, such as The Beatles, Herbie Hancock, Pink Floyd, and Tori
Amos, each offering her a different musical perspective. As her parents were not
musicians, she had to find her own way to gain the musical experiences she
desired. With the mentoring and guidance of her piano teacher Marie Panosian,
graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, she started competing in various state
wide piano competitions at 9 years old, and by 14 she was already being given
many opportunities that would decidedly set the course of her life as composer
and musician. She was the accompanist and musical director to various
ensembles and musicals, and would play in numerous venues, from small private
parties to large auditoriums and stages. Now at Berklee, she finds herself in a
diverse musical environment that, along with her solid classical background, has
been a support in her fast paced progress into versatility and flexibility. While
she is attending Berklee, she not only works hard in maintaining outstanding
grades, but is also constantly given amazing opportunities in composition,
conducting and performing.
Some highlights of her professional career thus far include scoring the
films of various independent directors (most notably, “In Medias Res”, feature
film of LA based ind. director, Joe Perry), writing music for the lyric sequence,
“Fishwife Tales”, (written by esteemed North Shore poet, Jennifer Jean),
assistant conducting the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, writing
music for Kazira LLC’s newest videogame “AdLibs”, and co-founding, leading and
organizing Culturehouse, a Boston-based concert series that brings local non-
profits and bands together to create community, based on social awareness
through music.
Though this list only shows a small portion of Sarah’s accomplishments, it
highlights her “jack of all trades” personality as well as her ambitious and
hardworking nature, never being shy to take on a new task. In addition, it shows
a particular love for collaboration, which is why she is major in film scoring, and
working towards a career in LA. While she will always have her other “side-
projects”, being a film composer is her utmost desire. From a young age, Eide
realized the immense impact movies have on today’s modern society. Good
movies are movies that tell a story, and it’s the story that draws people in and a
very good movie can change people. She always wanted to be someone who
could positively impact as many people as possible and she knew that it would
be through film that she could do that. She also knew that much of the
emotional driving force that makes movies what they are is the score. It’s from
that point that she identified what she should do. Upon graduating she plans to
move to LA to pursue a career in film scoring.
With all this said, it’s important to mention that alongside all her artistic
goals and accomplishments, Eide also demonstrates a keen interest in global and
social issues. She constantly makes effort to inspire and lead others to take
actions towards these issues through the drive of her musical and leadership
abilities. No matter how busy her schedule gets, she always find the time to help
and serve others in her community and find creative ways to impact the Boston
community in a positive way.
Sarah Eide is more then just a composer and musician.
She’s a leader and an agent of positive change.
