Combat Readiness:

Martial Defender

You gain a bonus to opportunity attacks


equal to your Dexterity modifier. An enemy
struck by your opportunity attack stops
moving, if a move provoked the attack. If it
still has actions remaining, it can use them
to resume moving.

Role Traits
Titles:
Fighter, Warrior, Soldier.

Role:
Defender. You use your martial abilities to
protect others in your group. You can stand
firm in battle longer than other the other two
roles. Your proficiency with weapons makes
you a fair damage dealer as well.

Power Source:
Martial. You rely on training to provide you
will techniques that can be used to <???>

Key Abilities:
Strength, Constitution, Dexterity

Armor Proficiencies:
Cloth, Leather, Hide, Chainmail, Scale,
Plate, Light Shield, Heavy Shield

Weapon Talent:
Choose either one-handed or two-handed
weapons. When using a weapon of your
chosen style, you gain a +1 bonus to attack
rolls.

Inspiring Defense:
Once per encounter, as an immediate
reaction to being bloodied by an adjacent
foe, a martial defender can make a basic
attack against the enemy that bloodied him.
In addition, all allies that can see the attack
gain temporary hit points equal to your
Constitution modifier.

Primary Role Bonuses


Combat Control:
You may mark an enemy you attack.
Regardless if the attack hits or misses the
target suffers a -2 mark penalty to any
attacks it makes that do not include you as a
target. In addition, whenever a marked
enemy that is adjacent to you shifts or
makes an attack that does not include you,
you can make a melee basic attack against
that enemy as an immediate interrupt.

an enemy adjacent to you takes damage
equal to your Strength modifier.

Rapid Strike

You follow up your initial attack with swift cuts and stabs
ensuring something will get through their defenses.

modifier at 21st level.
Miss: Half Strength modifier damage. If

modifier.

Aimed Strike

You make an aimed strike sacrificing brutal energy for
careful precision.

Increase damage to 2[W] at 21st level.

Shield Smash

Martial Defender Attack 1


You follow up your attack with a devastating shield smash.

Requirement: You must be using a shield.
Target: One Creature
Attack: Strength vs. AC
Hit: 1[W] + Strength modifier damage, and
you push the target 1 square if it is your
size, smaller than you, or size category
larger. You can shift into the space the
target occupied.
Increase damage to 2[W] + Strength
modifier at 21st level.

Shifting Strike

You make a strike that cuts from one foe on to another.

You make a brutal overhand smash that knocks your
opponent prone.
