0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of this proposal report is to overcome the problems existed during the Festkon
programme held in UniMAP. Respondent were randomly chosen from students in different
School of Engineering. Problems identified during the Festkon held were the space provided for
the event and participation or publicity by the visitors. The best solution to overcome regarding
on space problem is change the location of Festkon programme from Dataran Dato Sheikh
Ahmad to Pauh Putra main campus and introduce the standard canopy (10 x 10) for site renter.
For participation or publicity problem, it can be overcome by having lucky draw for mysterious
prizes and invite some famous singers to entertain the audience. The benefits by change the
location of Festkon programme from Dataran Dato Sheikh Ahmad to Pauh Putra main campus is
can give more space for visitors to visit the booths and prevent overcrowded. While for the
publicity or participation by having lucky draw for mysterious prizes can give the excitement to
the visitors to join any activities provided by every booth. In management sector, the space
provided for the programme should be included with facilities that needed by customers, and the
secretariats are responsible to prepare the facilities. While for participation or publicity,
secretariats can provide coupons to the booth renter, and booth renter will give it to customers if
the customers spend more than the required expenditure as lucky draw ticket.
As conclusion, Festkon festival can be made some improvements by taking effective
solutions to overcome the problems so it will give more attraction for the upcoming Festkon
programme.

2.0 INTRODUCTION
The Festival Convocation (Feskon) held in Dataran Dato Syeikh Ahmad is a program
held every year by UniMAP. The aim of this program is to celebrate the students that will be
graduating from UniMAP. In this programme, the students can participate in activities such as
singing, explore race, colouring contest for children and many more at the booth that held in
Feskon. Through this program, some fund can be collected from the sale to improve the facilities
in UniMAP. Everyone can join and contribute in all activities to enliven the festival.Other than
that, there also variety of foods, carbonated drinks, souvenir, and gift being sold at the booths.
This festival also is the last program for the graduated students in UniMAP before they graduate
from their studies.
However, there are several things that we need to improve so that this festival can be
smoothly done. Based on the survey we carried out, the main problems have been identified in
this program is the space at Dataran Dato' Syeikh Ahmad is too small and crowded to held this
festival. Second problem is the participant involvement in the activities.
Actually, this festival target is to attract all UniMAP students to participate in the
programme. Therefore, this proposal report is intended to look into the problem as well as to
propose some solution in order to improvise the program and attract more participant among the
students to celebrate and join the festival.

3.0 METHODOLOGY
3.1 Questionnaire
The questionnaire consist of 20 questions, using close-ended type of questions, and divided into
4 sections which are section A, B, C, and D. For section A, it has 4 questions. The purpose is to
get the general overview from the respondents regarding on Festkon programme that had been
held every year in UniMAP. Dichotomous method were used which consist of two choices of
answers. In section B, the problems about Festkon were asked. There are two major problems,
which are space and participation of audiences in the programme. From here we can see and
gather some information of weaknesses from the programme. This section also using
dichotomous method. For section C, some solutions are provided that may help to improve the
quality of the programme. Likert scale was used to measure response of agreement or
disagreement of the solutions, in the scale from 1 until 5, which 1 - totally disagree, 2 - disagree,
3 - neutral, 4 - agree, and 5 - strongly agree. Lastly section D for demographic profile purpose, in
order to get some personal details of the respondent such as gender, year of study, school of
engineering, and hostel.
3.2 Sampling
The respondents consist of 50 UniMAP students from different schools. These 50 respondents
were randomly selected to participate in this survey. Random sampling is the most widely used
to do the survey, probably because it is easy to implement and easy to analyse. According to [1],
random sampling refers to a variety of selection techniques in which sample members are
selected by chance, but with a known probability of selection. We had distributed the
questionnaire to the student at various places, such as cafeteria, school, and even to the outside of
our campus as long they are UniMAP students. Out of 50 respondents, 28 are male, and 22 are
female. There are 38 students from 2nd year, 9 students from 3rd year, and 4 students from 4th year.
As we took the sample randomly, the respondents from school of Electrical System Engineering
are 5, Material Engineering are 3, Mechatronic Engineering are 29, Microelectronic Engineering
are 2, Faculty of Engineering Technology (FTK) is 1, Business Innovation and
Technopreneurship (PPIPT) is 1, Computer Engineering is 1, Manufacturing Engineering is 1,
Environmental Engineering are 4, and Bioprocess Engineering are 2. Roughly respondents from
Wang Ulu are 32, Simpang Empat are 2, UNICITY are 7, and Bumita are 9.
