Choose ONE option from each section to complete the Science Contract. Your goal is 50 points, which is the full credit amount.

VOCABULARY Options
A1. Make a crossword puzzle that includes all of your vocabulary words
with the definitions as clues.
A2. Make a hand-written vocabulary list with all definitions.
A3. Write descriptive paragraphs using all vocabulary words.
A4. Create a multiple choice vocabulary review using all words or
design an interactive vocabulary PowerPoint that acts as a self-quiz.
A5. Make vocabulary mini-posters. Write definitions with matching
descriptive colored pictures for our WORD WALL.
A6. Complete a word study on origins and prefixes/suffixes for HALF
of the vocabulary words. Get more details from Mr. Aion
CONTENT LEARNING Options
B1. Answer 1 Thought Question and 1 Problem for each section.
They are found on pages 233, 255, and 270.
B2. Read and answer questions about enrichment topics that go deeper
into chapter topics. Ask Mr. Aion for these assignments.

C4. Complete an experiment that examines relationship between size of
a meteor and crater.

D1. Make decorated posters for each section that summarize the main
ideas. Online Glogster posters are also a great idea!

D2. Write a two-page creative story (5 paragraph minimum), a comic


book, or a movie/TVscript using at least 10 vocab words in context.

D3. Compose and record a song or rap about the main ideas of the
chapter, using at least 10 vocabulary words

D4. Create a cardboard Tri-Fold display with section headings, images,


diagrams, and text summaries for three related chapter concepts.

D5. Build scale models of the inner planets. Create a notecard


explanation of each one, like you might see at a museum.

D6. Record your own Bill Nye-type video that explains the major
features of each of the inner planets. (Approx. 5 min.)

E2. Write a tourist brochure for each planet, explaining major features,
drawbacks and why someone should visit each.
E3. Create a presentation on each planet, giving important stats, basic
information, discoveries and interesting facts
E4. Create multiple choice question cards for a chapter review game
(30 Cards, non-vocabulary, at least 15 open ended)
E5. Chapter Test
E6. Write a paper on the history of each planet including discovery,
mythology and how and when the important information was
learned
GROUP CHAPTER PRESENTATION Option
(For 3-4 students)
P1. Create a complete chapter presentation and review, to be given in
class on the day before the test. ONE TIME ONLY.
