Journal (Study Skills)

This day we didnt started with the word and the quote of the week but
our word was Embezzle that means to steal or misappropriate. An
example with the word is She has embezzled $5,600,000 in a company
funds.
Our quote of the week was: Education is the kindling of a flame, not the
filling of a vessel -Socrates
We started the class with a new topic that was Answering Questions, as
teachers we have to adapt to our students and to their kinds of learn.
After that we talk about the four different skills we saw in the IELTS that
were speaking, listening, reading and writing. The teacher told us some
tips that we could take when we apply the test again for example:
Listening:

Underline ideas from questions before you hear the audio

Practice listening by videos or music before applying the test

Reading:

Read questions first before the text

Underline key words or importance of paragraphs
Skimming and scanning

Writing

On the first part where there are the charts or graphs you should
use linkers and the passive voice to make the sentence longer
On the second part you should divide your writing in three parts
which are introduction, summary and conclusion.

We finished the class by going into groups to choose one of the skills to
make a presentation about with a multiple intelligence and assessment.
In this class I really learn different tips I could take when I make an IELTS
exam and I also enjoy the class.

Journal (Study Skills)

We started the class with the individuals presentations; they presented
different topics like Stephen Krashens five hypotheses that were the
acquisition-learning hypothesis, the monitor hypothesis, the natural
order hypothesis, the input hypothesis and the affective filter
hypothesis. Also another classmate talked about the materials we could
use in class as teachers for example movies, videos, posters, flash cards,
CD player (music), and a lots more.
All the class was about presentations and I liked because that way we
understand the topic we already saw much better.
