A copy of the letter received from Corp. Off. New Delhi on the above subject
may kindly be referred to (copy enclosed).

As the Hon'ble High Court, Chennai has dismissed the writ petition appealed by
Chennai Telephones, BSNL CO has conveyed approval of competent authority for
extending the benefit of EPF coverage to all BSNL recruited employees for the preinduction training period at all BSNL Circle uniformly. Hence the details of Stipend
paid to the directly recruited EPF employees during the above said training period
may be furnished within 15 days before 20.11.2015 in the Format enclosed.

recruited employees. Chennai Tetephones filed an appeal against this order at Hon. High
Court of Madras but'the said appeal was dismissed by the Hon. Court and iustified the

claim of EPFO.
Hence, competent authority has approved for extendin6 the benefit of EPF
coverage to alt BSNL recruited employees for the pre induction training period at all BSNL
circles uniformty to avoid litigation with the EPFO in view of above court iudgment. lt is
requested to kindly arrange to settle the EPF dues of all pending cases as per the existing
procedure of catculation of EPF and its remittance to EPFO in respect of pre induction
training period of BSNL recruited employees and pursue for waiver of penalty, if any, with

the local EPF authorities.
