Duties and Responsibilities:
Attending the daily meeting and Arise Safety Suggestion, Near Miss
report, STOP card, etc.
For the safety of himself and his fellow workers on the drillfloor and in
the drilling package.
Shale Shaker or Mud Processing areas.
Physical condition of areas and equipment, planned inspections and
relevant documentation
Acquainted with various terms and definitions, general information, rig
safety, awareness, prevention and avoiding of slips, trips, and falls, use

of standard OSHA personal protective equipments, Hazwoper

Awareness,
Chipping, painting, keeping the cleaning of drilling floor clean, scrub
around the rig and general cleanup around well site.
Clean the generator, store, and pump rooms, pipe rack, key way,
railways, stairways, and walk ways.
Loads and unloads supplies and the equipment from boat during rough
or calm seas, monitors trash compactor and works in pump room
Chips paint and buff it. Occasionally relives the roughneck on the floor,
put on catwalks V door (lay down pipe), greases the crane, assist the
service hand in rigging up tools, and perform daily inspection of BOP
equipment.
Working with hands to keep the equipment maintained and clean.
Fuels the rig, monitor hole fill-up while pulling out of hole, lining up trip
tank, measure pip and ensure all safety and riding belts to make sure
they are in good condition.

Use wrench-like power tongs to smoothly and quickly connect and

disconnect the lower parts of the drill pipe when it is being lowered into
and raised from the hole
Assist in laying casing into a well after it has been drilled
Assists roughnecks on drill floor,, when moving rig breaks down subs,
floors, motors, lay rig over) in the oil field industry.
Motor hand (responsible for operating and maintaining the engines
which power the drilling equipment, can be 3 or 4 diesel engines and
several electrical engines on the rig,.
Basic maintenance experience - including proper tool recognition;
Set well equipment at well locations which includes cement pads and
pumping units
Install motors on equipment
Running in and Pull out drill pipe from the well bore, handling drill pipe,
drill collars, slips and tongs when making or breaking up connections,
Pin and box doping, Shoulder inspection
Assist other members of the drilling crew wherever needed.
Guide new crew members, Responsible for maintenance and smooth
operation of the mud pumps and mud holding pits, and other machines
in the mud pump room,
Use tongs to connect and disconnect drill pipe, equipment maintenance,
assisting in lay casing after well is drilled, assisting other members of
the crew as needed, and "general housekeeping",
Responsible for tie-down of pumping units and installing counter weights
for balancing pumping units
Assembling piping for production equipment
Install and repair pipeline such as steel and fiber class
Working under the crane operator
Able to work weekends and overtime when required and follow direction.
