This activity is for the students to discuss


possible career paths and goals based on
their values. Students will examine goals as
they relate to lifestyles. Create a report of
the average ranking of each item on the
Personal Inventory worksheet. Compare
personal results with group averages
The Career Planning section Learn
About Yourself students will be able
to choose from the following career
assessments.
The Interest Profiler will provide you
with a list of 180 workrelated
activities and students choose
whether they like or dislike the
activity, or if youre unsure. The
Interest Profiler will rank your interest
level in the following six categories:
Realistic, Investigative, Artistic,
Social, Enterprising or Conventional.
Students are then encouraged to
explore the top career clusters and
top careers that align with your
interests
List at least 5 goals related to school,
career and personal) and include a
description of how you plan to
accomplish each one.
Students will select someone working
in an interesting occupation to
interview in person or on the phone.
Spend at least 20 minutes talking
with the individual and gathering
information about his or her career
and the occupation. Suggested
questions are listed below. You can
add questions related to your
interests and concerns.
Students research careers using
information found in MnCareers and
other resources. They record their
information on the career research
worksheet.
