SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
KSEA - BOEING COUNTRY is designed to run on X-Plane 9 or X-Plane 10

It

has been tested extensively on both Mac and Windows platforms. As is the case
with X-Plane, individuals with a high end computer will experience better results than
those with lower end computers. In short, if your present computer is powerful
enough to give you satisfactory performance while flying in the Seattle area with XPlane 9 or 10 default scenery, I think you will be able to run KSEA - BOEING
COUNTRY 10 with similar results.

INSTALLATION

Follow these steps to install:

1.

Copy the folder titled KPAE_Paine_Field 10.5 to your custom scenery folder.

2.

Copy the folder titled KSEA Boeing Country 10.5 to your custom scenery
folder

3.

Open the folder titled PLUGINS_OPEN_ME!!! You will see something like
this:

4.

Copy the two folders hilighted in red to your plugins folder following this path:

5. Thats it, Youre done with installation. but I would suggest that you read the
important information below to prevent any future conflicts or problems.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
X-Plane 10 ships with the KSEA airport installed as the default airport, and includes a
Demo custom scenery package titled KSEA Demo Area. While this demo scenery
is very well done, it is not nearly as detailed as my KSEA Boeing Country 10
package.
Since KSEA Boeing Country includes a more detailed version of KSEA than the
default scenery, it is important that KSEA Boeing Country is loaded into the simulator
BEFORE X-Planes KSEA Demo Area. In the past, Scenery packs were loaded
alphabetically by name. Simply put, Scenery pack that had a name starting with the
letter A loads before one starting with the letter B etc....

X-Plane 10.1 changes the way scenery is loaded. It works like this:
X-Plane 10.1 adds an .ini file that prioritizes how scenery is loaded. When you
install a new scenery package, X-Plane automatically places your new scenery
package at the top of the priority list. When X-Plane runs, any packs that are found
in Custom Scenery but not in the .ini file are added to the top of the .ini file. If more
than one new pack is found, the new packs are added in alphabetical order (but
still before every old pack). So there is no need to change the name of a scenery
package
Any missing scenery pack is removed from the .ini file when X-Plane runs.
This means a few things:

THIS IS IMPORTANT !

DO NOT REMOVE THE KSEA Demo Area folder from your custom scenery
folder. Each time you run the X-Plane updater, it will re-install the KSEA Demo
Area package and place it at the top of the priority list

This is how my custom scenery folder looks. After you install this scenery package
you should see the folders that are hilighted in red

NICE TO KNOW INFORMATION

FOLLOWING THESES TWO STEPS WILL MAKE KSEA - BOEING COUNTRY LOOK
NICER.

These steps are not required to uses KSEA - BOEING COUNTRY, but they will make
the scenery look better.

1. Flatten the runways

Please review the information below for more detail on why, and how to do this.
FLATTEN RUNWAYS
When you are flying in KSEA - BOEING COUNTRY, you should make sure that you
flatten the runways. When the original dsf file was rendered the data erroneously
interpreted the large hangers on the northeast end of the field as higher terrain
instead of buildings. Consequently, there is a hill where the hangers are placed.
This makes some hangers float in the air and some hangers that are buried in the
ground. You can prevent this by making sure that the runways follow terrain
contours box is not checked. If you are not sure how to do this, go to the settings
menu and open Rendering Options. Click on the image below and it will point to the
box shat should NOT be checked.

TROUBLESHOOTING
KSEA - BOEING COUNTRY isa very detailed airport. If X-Plane seems to be running
slow you should first try a different aircraft to see if your FPS improves. IF you still
get low FPS, try removing the scenery and see what your FPS is at one of the
airports without the scenery installed. X-Plane has many options that you can set to
improve FPS. Their support web page has many good suggestions on how to
improve FPS so I wont repeat them here.
If you need assistance optimizing your system for use with my scenery, please
contact me and I will try to help.

If you are a registered user of BOEING COUNTRY and you did not receive an
upgrade message, please contact me and I will see that you get one.
One more item for pilots who have Real Scenery for Washington installed on their
system. This scenery package will work with Real Scenery, but the textures around
the airports will be duplicated. If you prefer, send me an e-mail and I will send you
a link to download a version of BOEING COUNTRY that is specifically designed for
use with Real Scenery Washington State.

THANKS FOR THE HELP

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my beta testers for their help in
bringing KSEA - BOEING COUNTRY to fruition.
Additionally, I would like to publicly thank the following individuals for their
assistance:
David Austin worked on the McChord flightline for many years. He graciously
shared his expertise and time to help me make McChord Field as accurate as
possible, Additionally a hearty thanks for allowing me to use the aircraft as static
objects at McChord Field:
C-124 (Old Shakey)
KC-135 Strato Tanker
C-17 Globemaster II
F-15 A (318 FIS)
CV-22 Osprey
C-5A Galaxy
Jaques Brault for allowing me to use the following his F-101, F-102, F-106 and F-86
as static models at the McChord Museum of Flight
And a hearty thanks to all the aircraft other designers for allowing me to use their
designs as a basis for creating my own custom static aircraft objects and textures.
And last but not least, thanks to Nick Ward for allowing me to include his houses
and textures to help populate the areas surrounding the Renton Airport.
