information.
During the morning of Sunday, May 24, we

farewell to these pastors who touched our

our departing pastors, you can do so by

Both of their departures leave holes in
our hearts and roles to be filled in our
organizational chart. We are in conversation
with Rev. Kendall, our next Senior Pastor,
regarding staffing directions. We will keep you

New Appointment in St. Joseph in June

By Larry A.Williams

Sally and I just learned that we will be moving to

St. Joseph, Missouri in late June. When Bishop

Schnase formally sets or fixes the appointments on
the final day of our Annual Conference session, I will
be named the Pastor of Huffman Memorial UMC in
St. Joe, beginning June 28.
We recognize Gods hand and the Spirits leading in
this decision. We also feel the weight of the Bishops
and the Cabinets prayerful consideration of the
unique needs of a charge, the community context,
and also the gifts and evidence of Gods grace of a
particular pastor. ( 427)
Though excited about the opportunities and
challenges ahead in this new field of Gods Kingdom,
we are also aware of the sting of saying farewell to
the communities of Missouri UMC and Columbia
which have been home for the past three years.

John Fawcett said it best in his 1782 hymn, Blest Be

the Tie That Binds.
When we asunder part, it gives us inward pain;
but we shall still be joined in heart, and hope to
meet again.
Our new location will place us just minutes away
from the homes of family, including our elder son,
my father, my sister and one of my brothers. We will
miss all of you here in Columbia nonetheless.
Thank you for opening your hearts to my family
and allowing me to share my talents within and
around this congregation. It is our prayer that God
will continue to bless you, your pastors, those who
gather to worship in your beautiful sanctuary, and
this community.
Shalom,
Rev. Larry, Pastor of Administration
