Reflection: A Humanizing Experience

Hello, I am Anna Harrell, the creator of this website. I deem the
human experience as having purpose and being useful to society as a
whole. I have learned that not only people but places also can exhibit
the definition of the human experience. Throughout the semester I
made a blog which is available on this website. In this blog I have
described how a certain place has provided the qualities of the human
experience. Learning this has furthered my writing skills along with my
skills to appreciate people and things as they are. I plan on using
these skills for the remainder of my educational career.

Group 1 Description: Under the tab titled Group 1, one may find the
assignments listed above. The first two are based upon books that
have been assigned in class. From The Arrival, I have learned that one
does not need words on a page to read a book. Pictures allow for one
to mentally create his or her own story. I also learned a great deal
about science fiction and American mythology in the novel American
Gods. The contemporary literacy project was very similar to the blog.
I enjoyed the meme activity.
Group 2 Description: Under the tab titled Group 2, one my find the
assignments listed above. The first is a reflection of the novel
American Gods. I learned that I retain more information from a novel if
I reflect on it as done so with this assignment. From category one I
chose to put in the assignments listed above. All of the activities but
mostly the dear Andrew letter and the cubing activity were very
enjoyable. I had no idea that I could write so much about something
that seems so insignificant. From category two I chose to put in the
assignments listed above. The mix and mingle activity was very fun
and quite beneficial when it came to trying to meet new people in the
class. The proposal was fun to write considering my task was to try
and persuade my professor to let me study the Atkins Library Caf. I
learned that I can be very persuasive.

UWRT Blog: Under the tab titled UWRT Blog, one may find a blog that
I personally created, describing what I believe to be the human
experience and how the Atkins Library Caf displays those qualities. I
had never written a blog before and thoroughly enjoyed spending my
free time in the caf.
Wild Cards 1 & 2 Description: Under the tab titled Wild Cards 1 &
2, one may find the assignments listed above from two other classes I
am currently taking here at UNC Charlotte. The first assignment is a
final paper about the movie Remember the Titans. Myself wrote it
along with three other people in the class. By completing this
assignment, I learned how to use film terms and concepts. The second
assignment consists of written portions from the three exams I have
taken in sociology class. By completing those assignments, I have
learned how to properly write about sociological issues based on
information in articles written by sociologists.
