Analysis of Student Learning-Showcase Lesson
Data on Whole Class
The table below shows the data I collected before, during, and after my
Showcase Lesson. The objective of this lesson was: At the end of this
lesson, the students will have a better understanding of what a bully is
and how we can stop bullies with 100% understanding.

The data in the table above represents the check-list/scores of my pre,

understanding of what a bully is, while the second determines how

many answers they got wrong on their bully or buddy worksheet. 16/22
(72%) had an understanding of what a bully is, and 6/22 (27%) did not
have an understanding of what a bully was. The during assessment
was done in a check-list form also based on their ability to answer
questions about what bullies are and how Big Bird was bullied. For the
most part, most students were able to answer why and how Big Bird
was bullied. The post-assessment was graded by the students ability
to understand whether a statement was a buddy or a bully statement.
The grading followed the same rubric as the pre and during
assessment. 17/22 (77%) students mastered who was a buddy and
bully, while 5/22 (23%) students did not grasp the information.
Individual Student Results (High, Average, Low)
I chose to focus on three main students. These students will be
referred to as Alayshia, Makayla, and Myron.
High performance student: The data above for Alayshia shows that she
had an understanding of what a bully is before our lesson. She told me
exactly what a bully was. She easily answered questions after our
video about bullies and she got everything on her buddy or bully sheet
correct. I chose Alayshia for the high performance student because she
showed understanding and done excellent in each assessment that I
performed with the class. Below, I included Alayshias work during the
assessments.
Average performance student: The data above for Makayla shows that
she had no understanding of what a bully is before our lesson. She told
me she had no idea of what a bully was but she done wonderful on her
buddy or bully sheet and only got 2 questions wrong. I chose Makayla
for the average performance student because she showed some
understanding and done average work on each assessment that I
performed with the class. Below, I included Makaylas work during the
assessments
Low performance student:
The data above for Myron shows that he did have an understanding of
what a bully was. He told me exactly what he thought that it was but
did not answer some of the questions after the video correctly. His
post-assessment showed me that he did not know what a bully was
after all because he got 7 answer incorrect. He tends to get off of task
fairly easy, and needs constant reminding to pay attention throughout
the day. I chose Myron for the low performance student because he
showed me that he was struggling to understand the material based
on the assessments that I gave. Below, I included Myrons work during
the assessments.

It was important for me to evaluate these three students to see the

different learning points in my classroom. If I am able to help my
highest student and my lowest student succeed then I know I am
reaching all the students who fall in the middle of that spectrum also.
Student work:
The following pictures shows work from my highest (Alayshia), average
(Makayla), and below average student (Myron). The pictures are from
their post-assessment worksheets that were completed after the
lesson.
