Some tips:
1. Carry passport sizes photos, can be useful for getting sim card etc.
2. e-Visa facility can be looked into for Cambodia (else we can get it at the
border)
3. People have suggested to carry good amount of cash (There is also some
cash requirements while Visa, I think travellers need to carry atleast about
5000 THB, need confirmation)
4. Its better to get atleast 1-2 sim cards (on arrival in Thailand) with internet
connection especially for maps, language could be a problem
5. Convert cash at Thai airport or withdraw from ATM, firms like Matrix
charge higher (need confirmation)
6. In Cambodia, scooters can be hired for local travel, cheaper option than
Tuk-Tuks (they charge heavily)
7. Bangkok local travel is also costly, so Bangkok metro or city bus service
information can be obtained before hand
8. Check out for agoda.com, hostels.com for best hostel/hotel deals
