Divine Healing

• Divine Healing has been a controversial issue

for many decades.
• I believe that the greatest controversies have
arisen in the area of results. We must never be
trapped in the arena of whether it was a lack
of our faith, or a lack of faith on the part of
the sick.
• How are we going to establish parameters for
ministering and praying for the sick?

• Let’s establish the facts
• Isaiah 53. 4,5 “ Surely he hath borne our griefs,
and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him
stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was
wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised
for our iniquities; and with his stripes we are
healed.”
• 1 Peter 2.24 “ Who his own self bare our sins in
his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to
sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose
stripes ye were healed.”

• Healing is divine in the sense that God has to
intervene in behalf of the finished work of
Jesus Christ.
• The gospels are full of Jesus healing the sick.
• We are not going to get into demonology as it
pertains to oppression, possession or the
operation of Spiritual Gifts tonight. It is for
certain that both are products of Calvary and
the consequent resurrection and ascension.

• Matthew 20. 30-34 “ And, behold, two blind
men sitting by the way side, when they heard
that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have
mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. And
the multitude rebuked them, because they
should hold their peace: but they cried the
more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou
son of David. And Jesus stood still, and called
to them, and said, What will ye that I shall do

sick.”

• Luke 7.6-10 “ and I say unto one, Go, and he
goeth; and to another, Come and he cometh;
and to my servant, Do this and he doeth it.
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled
at him, and turned him about, and said unto
the people that followed him, I say unto you, I
have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
And they that were sent, returning to the
house, found the servant whole that had been
sick.”

• Matthew 9.20 “ And behold, a woman, which
was diseased with an issue of blood twelve
years, came behind him, and touched the hem
of his garment: For she said within herself, If I
may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw
her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy
faith hath made thee whole.”

• Isaiah 61, as it is written in Luke 4.18,19 “ The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath
anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim release to the
captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to
set free those who are downtrodden, to
proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
• We pray for and anoint the sick because it is
the command of Jesus to the church.

• We don’t characterize individuals who use
medicine and medical doctors for healing. Divine
Healing and Medical Healing are fighting the
same enemy. The curse of the fall and the satanic
desire to kill, steal and destroy lives. (John 10.10)
• The Restoration of Man Romans 8.19-23 “ For
the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth
for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the
creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly,
but by reason of him who hath subjected the
same in hope…

• Romans 8 (cont) “ Because the creature itself
also shall be delivered from the bondage of
corruption into the glorious liberty of the
children of God. For we know that the whole
creation groaneth and travaileth in pain
together until now. And not only they, but
ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the
Spirit, even we ourselves groan within
ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the
redemption of our body.

will not gain in the natural some of our origin.

• Divine health is a way of life, crown of life living,
we can be healed, and we are going to die by
appointment, but in the meantime.
• These Three Things
• 1 Corinthians 3. 16,17 “ Know ye not that ye are
the temple of god, and that the Spirit of God
dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of
God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of
God is holy, which temple ye are”.
