•  Feed-In Tariffs are the electricity part of what some people call Clean Energy Cashback,
which also includes the Renewable Heat Incentive - a similar measure for heat.

•  They have been introduced by the Government to increase the level of renewable energy in
the UK towards our target of 15% of total energy from renewables by 2020 (up from under 2%
in 2009).

Wave and Tidal Energy Fund

•  Amount: £12,000,000 fund
•  Geographic Focus: Scotland

•  A new £12 million competition to support the deployment of wave and tidal energy
devices is now open.

•  The Wave and Tidal Energy: Research, Development and Demonstration Support fund
(WATERS) will support the development and testing of new wave and tidal stream
prototypes in Scottish waters. This includes related infrastructure and the costs of very
small arrays.
