PROPOSAL
Workshop Description:
A small, ghost-like doll that is traditionally used by Japanese people to prevent rain. Japanese
children make teru-teru-bzu () out of tissue paper or cotton and string and hang
them from a window when they wish for sunny weather. Nowadays, apart from traditional belief,
most Japanese children make teru-teru-bozu as some kind of cute accessories.
Skills/Knowledge
The creation of teru teru bosu is a trivial process. Hence it requires very limited prerequisites since it is non-technical in nature and demand only minimum amount of
effort. Nevertheless, fine motor skills are essential in producing satisfactory artwork.
This workshop aims to develop students' fine motor skills through hands-on learning in
making Teru Teru Bosu, besides letting students learn to apply their creativity to make
their product truly unique through personal touch.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Objective 1 : Helping participants to get along with new circle of people
Objective 2: Widen the knowledge by exposing and exploring the unique Japanese
belief

Our target audience are the group of students whom have passion for making creative yet trivial
artwork as pastime or to learn new motor skill, particularly find motor skills, and have certain
degree of interest in knowing more about the Japanese culture. The product that they created
by their own at the end of the lesson can serve as excellent gift to anyone that they treasure and
wanted to present to them a truly personal and unique token of appreciation.
