Jian Lorenzo Chans Portfolio

1. The Beach

Sketched on 9 x 12
110 gsm paper, using
HB, 3B, and 6B
Pencils. Work was
done individually with
inspiration from other
sketches and pictures
of shores and
beaches. Tissue paper
was used as a
blending tool to
improvise.

2. Cup of Coffee
Sketched on 9 x 12 110 gsm paper, using 4B, and 6B
Pencils. Work was done individually with inspiration
from coffee cup at home for pespective drawing. A
blending stick was used.

3. Emilia Clark (Daenerys Targaryen)

Sketched on 9 x 12
110 gsm paper, using
HB and 4B Pencils
and a blending stick.
Work was done
individually, but with
guidance from actual
photo of subject.
Gridding was used to
aid in proportions and
positioning.

4. The Tribal
Giraffe

Drawn on 9 x 12 110 gsm paper,


using HB pencil for sketch, and
sign pen for outline and shading
later on. Work was done
individually, with inspiration from a
friends painting of a giraffe.
Pattens and print were drawn from
imagination.

5. Anxiety

Sketched on 9 x 12 110 gsm


paper, using HB pencil for sketch,
and 4B for outline layering.
Blending tool was also used. Work
was done individually completely
out of imagination. It was meant to
bring together different shapes and
forms. Mean to represent what it
feels like to go through anxiety and
depression.

6. The TalkED Logo

Created through
Adobe Illustrator CC
2014 and Adobe
Photoshop CC
2014. Work was
done individually
with the use of one's
imagination. Its
meant to represent
the education of
spoken language,
for the organization,
TalkED. The colors
were chosen to
appeal to younger
people, and also to
the local Filipino
people, as these are
also the colors of
our national flag.

7. Mountain Landscape

Sketched on 9 x 12
110 gsm paper, using
HB, 4B, and 6B
pencils. Tissue paper
was used as
substituted to a
blending. Work was
done individually, with
inspiration from other
mountain rage
landscape pictures
and sketches.

8. Draw the World

Sketched on 9 x 12 110 gsm paper,


using HB and 3B pencils. No blending
tool was used. Work was done
individually, completely from personal
imagination. Work was meant to depict
the idea of drawing yourself drawing
the world, as motivation for the shy, but
global dreamers.

Sketched on 9 x 12 110 gsm paper,


using HB, 4B, and 6B pencils. Tissue
paper was used as substituted to a
blending tool. Work was done
individually, with inspiration from actual
portrait photo of subject.

10. Fried Oatmeal Shrimp

Raw photo taken using a Canon 70D 18-55 IS STM Lens. Subject is a plate of three
pieces fried oatmeal shrimp.

11. The Other Side


Sketched on 9 x 12 110gsm
paper using HB and 3B pencils,
together with a blending stick.
Work was done individually, with
inspiration from other perspective
drawings.

Work was meant to portray the


feeling when someone starts to
encounter their biggest fears in
life.

12. The Hearts


Room

Sketched on 9 x 12 110gsm paper


using HB and 4B pencils. Work was
done individually, with guidance
from other heart sketches and
images. It was meant to make use
of an unconventional symbol to
portray love for nature and our
universe, and how it develops into a
large network of history, culture, and
community.

13. Chops
City Logo

Work was done through Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 and Adobe


Photoshop CC 2014. All elements except for the font were created
independently, using other existing images as guides. It was created
for the purpose of representing my groups food stall.

14. Nina Dobrev

Sketched on 9 x 12 110gsm paper using HB, 3B, and 4B


pencils, together with a blending stick. Work was done
independently, with guidance from existing images of
subject.

15. Christmas Ball


Raw photo taken using a Canon 70D 18-55 IS STM Lens. Subject is a Christmas ball
hanging from a Christmas tree. Photo was taken for the purpose of capturing
Christmas through colors different from the conventional red and green colors.

16. Moonlight
Landscape

using HB, 3B, and
4B, and 6B pencils,
with tissue paper
as substitute to a
blending stick.
Work was done
independently, with
inspiration from
other images and
sketches of rivers,
waterfalls, and
flowing waters.
