BRIEF PROFILE
BARANGAY SINDALAN
City of San Fernando, Pampanga
Tel. Nos. (045) 8606887 / 3000093

Brgy Sindalan is one of 35 barangays that comprise the capital City of San Ferna
ndo, Pampanga. It ranks fourth in terms of population with 15,487 residents (Aug
ust 2007 Census). There are approximately 3,200 households in the community.
Sindalan is strategically located. It sits between the cities of San Fernando an
d Angeles. While there are pockets of agricultural lands, the barangay has becom
e highly urbanized. Recognized as one of the most progressive communities in Pam
panga, Sindalan has become the center of development in the northern part of the
City of San Fernando. It is the transit point of several barangays, including f
rom the town of Mexico. Tricycles and tri-wheelers of four (4) other barangays h
ave their terminals within its jurisdiction. The Mexico exit of the North Luzon
Expressway (NLEX) is an alternate route which also passes through the Barangay.
From San Nicolas in the south to Pulung Bulu in the north, an approximately thir
ty thousand (30,000) informal settlers occupying the Philippine National Railway
s lands have been resettled in the adjacent barangay of Calulut. And all these p
eople will be passing by the Barangay to go to their places of work, study, do b
usiness, or just go outside the resettlement.
The barangay has twenty (20) puroks, ten (10) of which consist the old barangay
while the rest are subdivisions, ranging from low-cost housing units to high-end
subdivisions. National giants Ayala Land and Robinson s Land are developing subdi
visions in the community.
There are approximately 500 commercial establishments in the community, ranging
from sari-sari stores to groceries, fast-food chains (Jollibee, Chowking, Goldil
ocks, Lots-A-Pizza), and commercial banks (Metrobank, Banco de Oro, Bank of the
Philippine Islands, RCBC). It has a privately owned wet-market that caters not o
nly to local residents but also of nearby barangays. Located in the barangay are
the plants of Pepsi Cola Int l Phils., Inc., Universal Robina Corp., and Fil-Mix
Co.
It also hosts the regional office of the DPWH and provincial offices of the Nati
onal Statistics Office, DENR, Pag-Ibig, GSIS, the Provincial Engineering, PNP Of
fice and the regional office of The Central Bank.

In addition, even if it has a city life there are still portions around the area
where there are trees and good views of nature to look at. It is also good that
OLFU is near the site because it could offer additional support to the project
since the university offers courses in the medical field.
