I’LL BE WAITING ON THE WINGS

I open my eyes hopping it’s just another dream but I know for the fact that Maya is gone.
Since he left , I am like a machine ,a person without emotions . Well they say we must forward
but for me I stop moving forward and dwell to much on the past. He left me with such a short
notice . Night and day I always think of him wandering if his ok .

It was my 18th I was in Alaska waiting for my parents to celebrate my birthday . I sat
patiently in my bed then I heard a knock . I leaped for joy when Lavinia entered the room the
smile on my face turned upside ,she hand me the note and it says:

ME AND YOUR DAD HAVE SOMETHINGS TO DO WE HAVE A DINNER

MEETING PLEASE FORGIVE US DON’T WORRY WE WILL MAKE IT UP TO YOU

Tears fell down from my face Pucca my cute pug ran I tried to catch up with him but
his fast . He finally stopped beside a man ,I looked at the man lying and his face was covered
with blood .When Lavinia saw the man ,she screamed I tried to move the man. I checked his
pulse to check whether his alive or dead. He moved and pressed my hand . His body was chiseled.
He sat down and white feathered wings began to show from his shoulder blades. I looked into
his deep blue eyes .

``what are you’’ I asked him

``my name is Maya ‘’he said ``please help me’’
``help me here Lavinia’’I said

We brought him to the guest house and lay him on the bed .He didn’t open his eyes
I placed my hand into his neck. He was hot. I tried to check around the room. I turned the fans
and air conditioner.

``what should we do know’’ I asked

``I don’t know ‘’ she replied
``well he has a deep cut on his forehead’’
``so shall we bring him to the hospital’’
``no it’s to far, hey you’re the doctor here ‘’
``I’m just 1st year student’’
``you wanted to be a surgeon remember’’
``so’’
``I’ll get my a thread ,needle and first aid kit’’
``wait’’

Lavinia went away I looked at Maya, he was in pain . He held my hand tighter and tighter.
He was in severe pain because he started to become pale. He started shout in agony.Lavinia came she
brought the things. I started to stitched his forehead carefully ,my hands started to sweat.Lavina tied
Maya ‘ s hand so that he won’t hurt me and refrain from moving to much . It took me so long to stitched
his forehead ,l looked at my hands trembled and I forgot his wings were broken so I have to repair it.
 It was afternoon when he woke up . He looked at the window and tried to flapped his
wings .By just merely looking at hi face ,he was horrified about his wings. He tried to move his
wings but nothing is happennd.

``hey calm down’’ I said

`` I fine thank you’’ he said with a rude look in his face
``I’m sorry’’ I said and step few steps backward near the door
``I’ m should be the one saying sorry ‘’he said `` forgive me for being rude’’
``who really are you, where are you from , and why do you have a wings like a bird’’ I flooded him
with this questions that my mind can’t answer.
``to many questions ,I will answer them one by one’’ he said hesitantly`` my name is Maya an
emissary of the bird nation ‘’
``what is that’’
``humans don’t know anything about it. It is a different world . The kingdom Animalia was
divided into different nations the bird ,where I belong, the amphibians, the reptiles, the
fishes and the largest of all the mammals. When the King of all nation ,Lionel died ,the
war started everyone wanted to be a king .I was about to send a message to the queen
of the fishes when somebody tried to kill me’’
``so how did you landed here in Alaska’’ I asked
``I don’t have an idea . The only thing I remembered was when you saw me’’
``I am hungry you want to eat food’’
``as long it is not poisonous, I’m fine with it’’

Me and Lavinia bought fresh fruits and vegetables in the market. Well mom and dad were
so busy that they forgot about me but it’s fine I’m used to it . Me and Maya dined in together .We
had a very lengthy conversation. He was actually carefree and free spirited kind of being. He prefers
to eat raw than cook. We liked the same color GREEN. And I was right ,he was actually worried about
his wings because if he doesn’t know how to go back without wings .I told him that he can stay until
his wings are ok. Back at their kingdom he was the prince’s messenger and friend . He likes to watch
the stars at night. I was sleepy already he accompanied me to my room suddenly Lavinia interrupted
I didn’t have the chance to at least say good night . At shore I looked at the beautiful sunset ,I was
shocked when he sat beside. For the first time I saw him smiled . I tried to play my saxophone while he
was beside me enjoying the view . Everyday we would go together to watch the view of the sunset then,
we dine together after that he would tell me different stories that happened in their kingdoms.
Every morning is my turn to tell different stories that happened in my life. After sometime I fell in
love with him ,he’s my first love. I could also feel that his in love with me. I waited at the same area
as always but this he didn’t come .This was the moment I ‘m afraid of , he might leave . The moon
replaced the sun ,he didn’t show up. I felt my tears ran down to my cheeks . I heard a hiss at the bushes
suddenly someone jumped over me . A man covered with scales his arms were snakes that could
stretched up to 10 meters long. He grabbed me the neck and he asked me about Maya but I didn’t spoke
a word. I spitted in his face twice ,he chocked me harder . I felt a strong wind when I looked up Maya
was there .He sliced the arms of the snake man . They wrestled each other . Maya grabbed me and we
soared high in the clouds . He held my tighter and I could feel his cool breathe on my neck
``I’m sorry ‘’ he said
``For what ‘’ I replied
``I wasn’t there to protect’’
``it’s just a scratch ‘’
``no ,it’s not just scratch he might kill you , he might use you as a bait’’ he said with a harsh tone.

The next day

I WANT YOU TO KOW HOW MUCH I CARE FOR YOU AND I WILL ALWAYS
THINK OF YOU WHERE EVER I GO. YOU’RE THE BEST PART OF ME .NOTHING’S GONNA
CHANGE MY LOVE FOR YOU.

That was 10 years ago ,now I am doctor .Things changed in my life but one thing didn’t
I’m still in love with him . I am always dreaming that he’s always beside me even thou it’s impossible.
I am again here looking at the shore where I first saw him .
I crumpled the note and tore it to
pieces
