This year, the sluggish economy has state governments searching for new
revenue sources. Unfortunately, in such an environment, business aviation often
makes for an attractive target.

Thats why NBAA is focused on monitoring and combating onerous tax

proposals that could catch the Associations Members blind-sided. For example,
in the first par t of 2010 alone, NBAA and its Members have been focused on
repealing a six-percent Florida sales tax that is levied even on some visiting
general aviation aircraft.

Separately, the Association has joined with other national and local general aviation
organizations in coalescing to oppose an proposed tax increase in Washington
State that would hike taxes on all aircraft owners there by as much as 1,400
percent. In response to the proposal, the coalition organized a comprehensive
grassroots e-mail, letter and personal contact campaign to make their voice heard
with state legislators.

At the time this article is being written, the Florida legislatures debate on increasing
taxes is unresolved. Likewise, lawmakers in Washington State have yet to decide on
the tax-hike proposal there, but are expected to consider the matter in a special
session. in Washington State stalled passage of the tax in mid-March, but the issue
will come up again in a legislative special session.

Certainly, this doesnt mark the first year the Association has been active in
challenging onerous state tax increases. Last year, NBAAs Tax Committee
monitored legislative activity monthly in 12 states. Member Call to Action alerts
and talking points were sent when needed to NBAA Members in affected states
to help them mobilize against the tax hikes. Those efforts proved effective in
New York and Illinois, where proposals to increase taxes on any aircraft valued at
$500,000 were thwarted.
In spite of the progress made in those states, NBAA anticipates that similar initiatives
will continue to be introduced as long as new state revenue streams are needed
to meet budget demands. Most state legislatures convene in early January and end
by March, although some continue until mid-July. NBAA Members should advise
the Associations professional staff if they become aware of potentially adverse
legislation in their state.
To help aircraft operators with tax planning, NBAA maintains a State Aviation Tax
Report database with a current list of aviation taxes in all 50 states. It also contains
names and contact information for state tax officials so aircraft operators can
obtain clarification on complex regulations and their applicability. NBAA Members
can access that report at www.nbaa.org/admin/taxes/state.

EXTERIOR:
Aircraft painted by Aerosmith Aviation in August
2002. Aircraft fuselage upper half is Marathon
White, fuselage lower half and upper winglets
are Viking Gray. The aircraft is accented with
Antique Gold metallic stripes.
INTERIOR:
The GIVSP Wide Inside interior is fully STCd
and was custom designed and completely
refurbished by Akridge Aircraft in August
2002. The cabin has a 12 passenger seating
configuration with a forward 4-place club
configuration./mid cabin consists of 2 single
forward facing seats immediately forward of
2 storage cabinets, one of which houses the
entertainment system/ aft cabin consists of a
four place divan opposite a 2-place club . The
jump seat is certified for takeoff and landing.
All seats are fireblocked. The chairs are
covered with beige/cream two tone leather,
and the divan is covered with light gray fabric.
The upper sidewalls and window reveals are
a gray/beige printed silk, and the headliner is
cream colored leather. The lower sidewalls
are beige ultra suede leather. The carpet
is beige (replaced January 2008), and the
woodwork is birds eye maple. The pilot seats
are covered in beige leather with sheepskin.
The entertainment system consists of a
dual DVD player with 20 inch monitors
mounted on the forward and aft bulkheads,
and an Airshow 400. There is a CD player
with 6-disc changer, and the speakers are
configured in forward and aft cabin listening
zones. There are headset jacks alongside
each seat, with individual volume controls.
The cabin features an aft galley with

microwave, convection oven, coffee pot,
cold storage, ice drawer, sink with instahot
hot water, storage cabinets, and corian
countertops. The aft lavatory has a side
facing toilet, and a forward facing vanity seat
opposite a sink. There is a forward lavatory
with a side facing toilet in the vestibule.
MAINTENANCE HIGHLIGHTS:
12/24 month inspection is due to be complied
with 4/2010.
12/24/48 month inspection completed 4/2008 by
GDAS Westeld (Gulfstream).
12/24/36/72 month inspection completed 4/2006
by Pentastar Aviation.
Left Engine overhauled on 1/2/2009 at 4597.1
hours by Bizjet International.
Right Engine overhauled on 12/17/2008 at
4537.5 hours by Bizjet International.
