Warnings
1.1 Use of the System
The following directions should enable the person responsible for the system, and the person who actually uses the
instrument, to anticipate and avoid operational hazards.
The person responsible for the instrument must ensure that all users understand these directions and adhere to
them.
Prohibited uses
Use of accessories from other manufacturers without the express approval of COBO Divisione 3B6
Inadequate safeguards at the surveying site (e.g. when measuring on roads, power lines)
WARNING:
The chance of injury, malfunctions and damage to the equipment if not used as specified. The owner has to
inform the user of the hazards in use, protective and counter measures to take.
1.3 Areas of Responsibility
WARNING:
The person responsible for the instrument must ensure that the equipment is used in accordance with the
instructions. This person is also accountable for the deployment of personnel and for their training and for the safety
of the equipment when in use

The load limiting device is an electronic control device, designed to help the operator for the safe use of the machine,
warning him by means of visual and audible alarms when approaching a dangerous condition.
However, this device is not aimed at replacing the operators good experience when properly using the crane.
The operator is responsible for the setting of operating mode of the machine and the proper usage.
The operator is responsible for operating the machine safely in accordance with all safety regulations. He should also
be able to use the data in order to operate safely.
The operator must be able to recognize if the data transmitted by the system are correct and coherent with the real
conditions.
He also must be able to utilize the data in order to operate under safety conditions.
The limiter is an electronic device with several components and could be subject to failures or defects.
The operator must recognize these events and must act consequently (to proceed to repair, if possible, or to call the
constructor for assistance).
1.4 Checks the user must perform
To ensure continuous and safe operations of the system the following checks must be performed regularly by the
user.
Before to start to work with the system, following checks should be made:

Selection between higher and lower cabin is made from the work consent button in each cabin.

Derricking in Bypass
In case of overload, LMI block the boom lifting maneuver. It is possible to bypass this lock with the button on touch
screen.
3.8.7
With the touch screen is possible to reset the hook height. Press the button in order to acquire the zero point. Push
another time the button to recalculate the hook height from the acquired point.

Grab/Spreader Tare
Push the proper area on touch screen in order to acquire the grab/spreader weight.
3.8.9
Automatic centering
Automatic slewing centering can be activated from the apposite joystick button. The function can be activated only in
a certain range near 0 and 180 points.

Operative Mode
4.1
OPERATING MODES
The operating modes are set by the manufacturer in the XLS tables.
The operating mode is displayed in the LMI Page of the Tera12 and in the Page1 of the View by the following status:
Grab
4.1.1
The Operative mode is selected automatically according with the devices connected. If the mechanic grab is used,
the operator must selected it by keypad from cabin or by remote control.
The hook type (light/heavy) must be set by display Tera12/Tera8. At start up will be automatically set the Light Hook
mode.

At start up the display shows LMI page in Operative mode. It displays the main machine information while are
enabled the functions of operating mode, and limiter exclusion. In the following page its possible detect information
of temperatures and pressures of the machine circuits, the engine status, the stabilizers and spreader (if used)
status, the current alarms list.
From LMI page its possible enter the camera images (Camera page) and the diagnostic, the setup, the calibration,
and the Data Logger of the machine (from Main Menu Page).

FAULT MODE: Fault mode text
The system recognizes the fault and malfunction conditions sending from the main units (LMI and Boom Board).
In case a trouble has been detected, the LMI sets itself in a safe state by stopping the operations displaying the
current alarm. If more than one fault is active, the errors are cyclically displayed in automatic sequence.
After returning from the alarm condition the system always return to the operative mode.
The Alarm Code Parameters (Suspect Parameter, Fault Mode, Priority, Group) are described in the Alarms chapter.
