Morris From America Would Make a Great Triple

Feature With Dope & The Wackness [Sundance
Review]
Posted on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 by Peter Sciretta

Morris From America is a wonderful and heartfelt cross-cultural coming-of-age tale about an
African-American boy trying to adapt in Germany. This hip-hop-infused rite of passage story would
work well in a triple feature alongside other Sundance films like Dope and The Wackness.

a Pilot Order at Fox
Posted on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 by Ethan Anderton

This March, well see The Omen all grown up with A&Es new drama series Damien. And now another
horror classic will be getting the TV series treatment as well. Fox has ordered an adaptation
of William Peter Blattys book The Exorcist for a pilot that will hopefully launch a new TV series on

Operation Avalanche: Faking the Moon Landing Is An

Absolute Blast [Sundance Review]
Posted on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 by Ethan Anderton

People dont seem to be all that impressed with found footage movies anymore, especially in the
horror genre. But directorMatt Johnson has done something clever with the narrative style in his
Sundance selected comedic conspiracy theory thriller Operation Avalanche.
We all know that the United States was the first country to step foot on the moon after Russia beat us
to space with Sputnik. But do we really know that for sure? Plenty of conspiracy theories claim that
the moon landing was faked, andOperation Avalanche shows us how it was done in a story that might
be the most original movies about the space race youll ever see. Find out more in or Operation
Avalanche review below! Read More

The Lure: Just Your Average 80s Infused, Gothic

Horror Musical with Vampire Mermaids [Sundance
Review]
Posted on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 by Ethan Anderton

When youre at the Sundance Film Festival, there are a lot of tropes that you get used to. Estranged
family, loved one dying of cancer, coming of age romance, and comedy actors looking to show that
they can be dramatic too. But sometimes you get something absolutely bonkers that doesnt have any
of those things. That something is The Lure.
Hailing from Poland, the film from director Agnieszka Smoczynska is full of style, and it will
undoubtedly be the best Polish rock musical with bloodthirsty sirens youll ever see, but thats mostly
because its the only one of its kind. Read on for The Lure review from Sundance. Read More

Sam Raimi to Direct A Prophet Remake

Posted on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 by Angie Han

Theres a very strong argument to be made that theres no need to remake Jacques Audiards A
Prophet in the first place. But thanks to Sony Pictures, its happening whether you like it or not, so
perhaps we should just be relieved theyve enlisted some solid talent to help it come to life. Sam
Raimi is reportedly in talks to direct the thriller, which is being written by Dennis Lehane. Read

Once Again, Zack Snyder Defends Man of Steel

Destroying Metropolis, Talks Batman v Superman
Posted on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 by Jack Giroux

Can you think of a more romantic spot for a first kiss than when youre surrounded by hundreds, if not
thousands, of dead bodies? Doesnt exactly set the mood, does it? Lois Lane (Amy Adams) was into
it, though, and she even cracked a joke (Its downhill after the first kiss) amongst the chaos. Its one
of the tone deaf moments of Man of Steels third act, which has been dividing fans ever since the
films release. But to this day, director Zack Snyder stands by the destruction of Metropolis.
After the jump, Zack Snyder defends Man of Steel and discusses the repercussions its destruction will
create in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
