Purpose of job:
To ensure that any test administered by the BC Examinations and English Services India Private Limited
runs smoothly on the test day/s and that all assigned test day duties and standards are met
Context and environment: (e.g. dept description, region description, organogram)
This is a freelance post and the post holder will be part of a wider pool of test day personnel, contracted
to support the delivery of a variety of tests on behalf of BC Examinations and English Services India
Private Limited across various locations in India. The post holder will be required to work very closely
with a team of other test day personnel and test day service providers.

India is a priority country for the British Council and its Examinations Services operation is among the
largest in the world. The business has set in place ambitious plans to ensure growth and greater impact
in a fast changing and global environment. It is essential that that the highest standards of test delivery
are achieved and our examinations activity continues to build trust amongst all test takers and
stakeholders
South Asia Region: The SA region consists of 7 countries, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal,
Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. Apart from delivering examinations across the country BC Examinations
and English Services India Private Limited also operates as a hub for delivery of examinations in Nepal.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
Accountabilities:
To maintain the integrity and reputation of the BC Examinations and English Services India Private
Limited and the various examination boards by ensuring that tests are delivered to prescribed customer
service, security and administration standards for duties assigned.
Responsibilities:
To have knowledge of standards & procedures ( training and reference material will be provided)
To ensure that all test day invigilation standards and procedures are met
To ensure safety and security of assigned test material throughout the testing process
To ensure all health & safety, child protection and emergency procedures are carried out as
prescribed

To act as the main point of contact for all candidates on test day
To escalate issues and consult with the test day supervisor in the case of any exceptions or
emergencies
Main Duties:
To assist in preparing the test venue
Ensure necessary equipment, material for candidates, signage, branding and seating
arrangements are in place and ready to use
Report gaps and take corrective action before the start of activity
Ensure special arrangements ,if any, are clarified and in place
Ensure that the test is administered to agreed standards
Be alert to any candidate who needs assistance before, during or after the test
Complete required candidate entry, exit and ID check procedures
Actively supervise candidates during tests and breaks and ensure that there is no malpractice or
violation of test conditions
Report any malpractice, suspected malpractice ,any other incidents or potential incidents to the
supervisor immediately
Collect evidence in support of malpractice or suspected malpractice
Ensure that the test day material is handled securely and accounted for in line with procedures, at
all times
Reporting, training and development
Report at test venues at the agreed time
Be present for all pre-test briefings and be fully aware of emergency procedures
Complete all reports, logs and claims accurately and in real-time
Attend mandatory and other periodic/refresher training as arranged by the centre
Contribute to the enhancement of test day standards and procedures

Exam Candidates
BC Examinations and English Services India Private Limited team
Test day staff including other Invigilators, Supervisors, Examiners, Marshalls etc
Suppliers of exam test day services e.g. venue service providers, courier company etc
Test day inspectors / auditors
Other important features or requirements of the job
(e.g. travel, unsocial/evening hours, long hours of standing, restrictions on employment etc)
The post holder will be remunerated on an hourly paid basis.
The post holder must be willing to work on weekends (Saturdays and /or Sundays) and / or some
weekdays. Examinations are sometimes held during public holidays. This may also involve some
unsocial hours and overnight stays in test cities.
The post holder must be willing to travel to other cities within the region and have the flexibility to work
beyond the prior agreed work schedule as per business needs
The role requires long hours of standing and physical movement
The post holder should not have any intention of taking the IELTS test in the next 12 months.
The post holder should not be involved in similar invigilation work for any other organisation or engaged
