A View from the Shepherd

Presidents have inaugural speeches and todays Gospel account
truly is the inaugural speech of Jesus. He reveals to his own
townsfolk that Scripture is being fulfilled in their midst. This is
blasphemy to both their faith lives and their ears! Imagine, that
Scripture is REALLY being fulfilled?? Those hopes, promises and
mysteries cant possibly be happening??? In his reading of the
scriptures Jesus outlines his agendato bring about Gods
Kingdoma kingdom where the poor, the lonely, the oppressed
and the imprisoned will find freedom from want and fear and need.
Shouldnt that be OUR agenda as well? Now that we have
established our local church of the wider American National
Catholic Church, we should begin to lay down our journey in
fulfilling Jesus call with outreach to the poor, the lonely, the
imprisoned and the oppressed. We cannot just make church be an
hour of faith-building but turn it into a place and experience that
pumps us up to DO THE WORK OF THE LORD! Liturgy is
prayer and prayer is needed for accomplishing Gods plan. So lets
start thinking about how we, the parish of Good Shepherd ANCC,
will make a difference in our local area and in the world.

Live Jesus in Our Hearts, Forever!
