Strawberry Shortages of Historic Proportions

marketnotes
Produce Market Report January 26, 2016

GOOD BUYS FOR THE WEEK

We are trying heroic measures to source strawberries in the

worst market in 40 years. The combination of bad weather, new
weakly producing plants and the resulting minimal growth.
Floridas daily pick is averaging 45,000 when they typically pick
325,000 and CA is yielding 24,000 vs. 98,000 last year. No stems.
