On Thursday, January 21, 2016 at approx. 1243 hours Jackson Police officers responded to
Trustmark Bank at 190 E. Capital St. regarding a bank robbery. An unknown male suspect
approached a teller stating he was armed and demanded money. The suspect was able to flee the
scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries reported.
On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, Stephen Gibson surrendered to authorities at Jackson Police
Headquarters. Subsequently, he was charged with one count of Bank Robbery and one count of
Conspiracy to Commit Bank Robbery. He has been booked into the City Jail currently awaiting
an initial hearing.
On Wednesday, January 27, 2016, Robbery/Homicide Detectives arrested and charged the bank
teller, Boris Lenoir with one count of Bank Robbery and one count of Conspiracy to Commit
Bank Robbery. He is a relative of co-defendant, Stephen Gibson. Detectives have evidence of
this being a carefully planned incident. He has been booked into the City Jail currently awaiting
an initial hearing.
The investigation is still ongoing and more charges and/or arrests are forthcoming.
