FRENCH ROAD SAFETY INCREASINGLY IMPORTANT

For the first time since 1970, road deaths have increased two years in a row, 2014 and 2015.
During 2015, mortality is "up 2.4% with 3464 people killed.
Road deaths is the main reason to death among young people in France
The increase primarily depends on:
25 % of accidents involved a speeding driver

25 % involved intoxicated drivers

The number of road deaths since 1970

After 12 years of decline, this tragic evolution is


putting pressure on the French government to
act on road safety:
The government is committed to pass below the 2,000
deaths by 2020.

FRENCH CONSUMING HABITS ON THE RISE

According to a survey published by INSEE this Thursday, French consuming habits are on the rise.
The survey carried out by INSEE has assessed several factors that provide an overview on the future level of
consumption:
Financial situation
Living standards
Unemployment
Their ability to save
The ability to save had decreased slight while the perceived
living standards have risen sharply.
The results of the study are the most optimistic since 2007
and confirm the rising purchasing power recorded last year.
This is a positive signal for growth of the French economy

SOLAR ENERGY IN INDIA ATTRACTS FRENCH INVESTORS

In the context of the French state visit to India, EDF reached important steps in its strategy to develop low-carbon
energy in India, addressing three specific areas:
Nuclear energy: Agreement of understanding with NPCIL for projected constructions of nuclear plants
Renewable energy: EDF active in solar sector but also partnering with the SITAC Group on wind power
Sustainable cities: EDF has signed a collaboration agreement with a public sector company where the goal is to
support the 100 Smart Cities in India project.
Anxious to reduce its emissions of greenhouse gas, India has set a target to:
Produce 40% of its electricity from renewables by 2022,
by developing both solar energy and wind.
Aims for a solar photovoltaic capacity 100 gigawatts of in 2022

The number of retail sites grew 16% in 2015, to 182.000
In 2015, purchases on the Internet in France reached 64.9 billion euros
The A 14% rise, according to the Federation of e-commerce and distance selling (Fevad).
In 2014, the increase was 11%
As in previous years, online trade remains driven by:

Expansion of supply
Development of marketplaces that continue to gain ground, with 9% market share.
Sales in mobile are also expanding rapidly (+ 39%)
France is the 3rd largest e-commerce market in Europe with a internet penetration rate at 84%
Sweden has an internet penetration rate at 95%
