informationsheettotheteachertogetapprovedontheirfacts.Ifthegrouppresentsvalid
informationandhascompletedtheirinformationsheet,theteacherwillputacheckmarkon
theirsheet,informingthestudentsthattheirgrouphasmettheacademicgoal.
Groupswillbegivenaninformationsheettofilloutabouttheirpresidents.Thiswillbea
goodguideandgraphicorganizerforthemandasateacherwillhelpmyselfseeifstudentsare
ontrackandareunderstandingwhatisneededofthemtocomplete.

Iwillwalkaroundtheroomwhilestudentsareworkingintheirgroup.Iwillsitatagrouptablefor
acoupleofminutesandwillbewatchingthegroupinfrontofme,butIwillbelisteningtothe
groupbehindme.IfIseeastudentmodelingoursocialgoal,Iwillplaceachocolatecoinintheir
groupsbucket.IfIseeastudentbeingofftask,Iwillguidetheirgroupwithaquestionabout
theirpresidentorpresentation.

Whilestudentsareresearchingandworkingtogetherasagroup,Iwillwalkaroundand
monitortheirprogressonthesocialgoal.EachgroupwillhaveasmallbucketandeverytimeI
seeastudentmodelingoursocialgoal,Iwillputachocolatecoinintheirgroupbucket.Each
groupwillhavetheopportunityofreceiving4coins.Groupswillnotknowwhoearnedthecoin,
sotheyneedtomakesureeverymemberismodelingandpracticingthesocialgoal.
Aftereachgrouppresentstheirpresidentinfrontoftheclassroom,Iwillhavetwo
studentsgiveapositivecommentonwhatthegroupdidwell.Thiswillhelpstudentsconfidence
andkeepsthestudentswhoarelisteningengaged.Wewillalsogiveaonebigclapasaclass
aftereachpresentation.

Groupswillexpectedtopresenttheirpresidentfor5minutesinfrontoftheclassroom.
Theymaychoosetoonlyreadasmallpartoftheirpresentation,butthatwillbedecided
bythepresenterrole.Studentswhoareintheaudienceatthetimewillhaveasheetto
filloutforeachpresentation,theteacherwillhavethesameone.Iftheteachercanfill
outthesheetwithlittletonodifficulty,thestudentswillreceivecreditfortheir
presentation.(Seebelowforhandout)
Thesocialgoalwillbeassessedthroughteacherobservationandwillberewarded
throughthechocolateincentiveandwillberecordedinthegradebookascompletedor
notcompleted.

Ifthereisagroupthatneedsextraattentionortime,Imaysendthemtoadifferent
locationtocompletetheassignmentsothattheywillhavelessnoiseanddistractions
causingthemtogetofftask.

willguidethemintotherightdirectiononwheretofindit.
