The Black Voice Magazine: Website Specifications

The registered domain name is: www.blackvoicemagazine.co.za, currently installed on a

Joomla 3 platform.
1. INTRODUCTION & OVERVIEW OF WEB SITE REQUIREMENTS
The Black Voice Magazine was founded 2007 by Thando Sipuye (Ras Moziah) as a tool to
liberate the Black mind by affording young Black critical and radical thinkers, writers and
readers a platform to express themselves uncensored. Due to a number of constraints number one among them being financial support - the Black Voice Magazine has only
published two powerful volumes, one in 2008 and another in 2010. We are still looking for
potential Black sponsors and investors who are interested in the project of liberating the
Black mind.
We have resolved to launch the Black Voice Magazine on an online platform in order to reach
wider audiences and attract broader readership. The high costs that go into print
publications (which have hindered our project thus far) have also compelled us to look for
alternatives. Over the years, the only two published volumes of the Black Voice Magazine
have reached, influenced and inspired thousands of Black people in different parts of the
world.
The Black Voice Magazine website will provide updated Afrikan-centred content on both
contemporary and historic events affecting Black people. We want Black people to find an
alternative discourse to the rigid and pretentious political correctness of white supremacy
under the guise of neo-liberalism. The Black Voice Magazine website will be a platform for
critical and radical thinkers, writers and readers not only to express themselves, but also
offer possible solutions to the challenges facing Black people.
The target market for the Black Voice Magazine website are young Black people who are
either still on a journey of self-discovery, or those who have found themselves and identify
with the Afrikan-Centred Movement. We are targeting students, young professionals,
unemployed youth, entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, film makers, civil servants all Black
youth.
