Prepare moving truck by ensuring that adequate packing material, such
as boxes, tapes, newsprints, canvas, bags, cloth pads, nails, etc. are
stored. Material handling equipment and tool, such as, handtrucks,
dollies, forklifts, hammers, tape and nail gun, and crowbar are
available, accounted for, and placed onto flatbed. Assist the driver
with the geographical location of the job. Serve as a truck driver in
the absence of available drivers. Meet and greet the customer,
perform introduction of the crew members, and conduct a walk through
of the house to confirm household items to be packed and moved.
Organize the pack out or move in of items, issue work assignments to
the crew, and monitor work progress to ensure timely accomplishment of
the job. Wrap, unwrap, assemble, disassemble, pack, lift/carry (250
lbs), and load household items into 180 cube crates. Nail doors to
crate and ensure all crates are sealed and secured onto the truck.
Conduct inventory of all equipment and tools prior to departing and
ensure work area is free of debris. Enforce safety techniques and
practices during the course of the day. Promote teamwork and shared
responsibility of the job. Conduct on the job training to new hires.
Complete all the required paperwork. I was responsible as a driver
for the receipt and/or delivery of the household goods inventory.
Operated a variety of material handling equipment and tools,
auto/manual truck or car and have some experience with a computer and
printer.
