NSS Activities During 2012-15
In the Year 2012
On 18-6-2012 College Opening day NSS students cleaned our college campus. NSS
conducted Personality development program in coordination with Nehru Yuvakendra on 2006-2012. A number of 50 Students donated blood on the occasion of Indhra Gandhi Birthday
Celebration and a Seminar conducted with the title Nonconventional Energy held on 26-062012. Independence day celebration took place on 15-08-2012 and our NSS Students cleaned
our college campus. On 27-08-2012, competitions were conducted by NSS in coordination
with Nehru Yuvahendra. NSS conducted Blood donation camp with the coordination of
Lions Club, Tiruvannamalai on 30-08-2012. Dengu Awareness program was conducted on
18-10-2012. On the Occasion of Deepam Festival 50 students cooperated with Police to
maintain law and order on 27-11-2012.
In the Year 2013
On 11-1-2013, Pongal was celebrated in our college. On the occasion of Voters day
Celebration, Competition was conducted by NSS. On 24-01-2013 Voters day celebration, 14
km human chain formed by 3500 students coordinated by District Collector. Mock Polling
program was conducted on 25-1-2013. Republic day celebrated on 26-1-2013. To eradicate
Polio on 27-1-2013 Polio drops campaign was conducted. NSS conducted Block level essay
and Poetry Competition on 4-2-2013. NSS Camp was conducted from 23-2-2013 to 29-22013. A number of 100 NSS Students participated University level events and in the State
Level 50 students participated during the academic year 2012-2013. There are 16 Extension
activities organized by NSS during the academic year 2012-2013.

In the Year 2014

In the academic year 2013- 2014, the NSS units have organized the following
programmes:
Special Eye care camp Blood donation camp

AIDS awareness campaign

Campaign for creating awareness on voting
Participation on the rally conducted for observing girl children Day
Special camp for seven days is conducted in the neighbourhood areas of
Perumpakkam, Seranthangal, Nallavan Palayam and Kottangal etc and they
organized rally representing the issues of social concern.
Participation in the human chain organized for creating awareness on protecting of
environment, impact of tobacco, road safety, eradication of female infanticide,
control of plastic materials usage, cancer awareness and awareness against suicide
etc.
Women days celebration was conducted on 07.03.2014 with Chief Guest Medical
College Dean and Lawyer in collaboration with NSS. Child Marriage awareness program was
conducted by NSS to avoid early marriage of women students. Hundred Tree planted by NSS
on 30.10.2013 on Ozone day and Monthly Campus Cleaning was done by NSS students.
There are five number of students were participated in the University level events. And one
student participated in the National Level event. A number of 15 events were conducted
during the academic year 2013-2014 by NSS.
In the Year 2015
For avoiding Child marriage awareness program was conducted with NSS on
18.9.2014 & 19.9.2014. To save the girl child, awareness program was conducted with
district health department and NSS on 10.12.14. In this program Joint Director of Medical
College was the Chief Guest. Voter awareness program was conducted with NSS on
21.1.2015 and 22.1.2015. On 24.1.2015 a Human chain voter awareness program was
conducted under the leadership of District Collector. On 25.1.2015 a Mini Marathan was also
conducted. On 29.1.2015 Dengu Mosquito eradication programme was conducted. All the
UG III year students participated and cleaned the campus.
Skill development program was conducted with Nehru Yuva Kendra and NSS on
13.12.14. Blood Donation Camp, Blood Group Identification, Medical Camp for Homeo,
ENT, Skin, Dental were conducted with Lions Club and NSS. On 11.3.2015 Blood Anima
check-up was conducted and from 11.3.2015 to 30.3.2015 energetic food are distributed to
the affected girl students. This program was conducted with the help of Lions Club of
Tiruvannamalai and NSS. On 23.3.2015 Prohibition of Alcohol program was conducted.

There are six number of NSS Students participated in the University Level events. And a
student participated in National Level event during the academic year 2014-2015.
In the Year 2016
On 06.10.2015, a seminar was conducted in the college campus on the basis of The
Prevention of Dengue. The program was inaugurated by our College Principal
Dr.Manivanan, Indeed our Tiruvannamalai Municipal Chief Doctor. Dr. Ajantha happily
accepted as Chief Guest for the program and gave some preventive measures for controlling
Dengue. This program was organized by Prof.K.R. Arivuselvi and Prof.Dr. Kuppuswamy,
NSS Program Officers.
On 06.10.2015, our NSS Students organized college campus cleaning program with
the guidance of NSS Program Officers.
A Rally was conducted by Our District Collector, on celebration of our Former
President APJ Abdul Kalams Birthday. On behalf of our College nearly 50 NSS students
were participated with the Program officers. Our District Collector was inaugurated the
program.
A combined program by Our College NSS with Tiruvannamalai Rotary Club and was
served Nelavembu Neer and the Awareness program of Herbal Water on 11.01.2016.
Nearly 200 students were participated and had Herbal Water. The program was inaugurated
by our college principal Dr.R.Natarajan and Prof.Dr. Santhi, Dept. of Chemistry gave a brief
greetings to the students and expressed their thanks for organizing such a needful program in
our college campus.
A Seminar on Road Safety week was conducted in the college campus on
11.01.2016. Mr.R. Jayaraman, Inspector of District Transports, participated and addressed the
program. Our college principal Dr.R.Natrajan, gave an inaugural address to the students on
Road Safety.Dr. Thangaraj, Prof. in History, gave a word of greetings in the program.
A collaborated program was orchestrated by the NSS and Department of Tamil,
celebration of Ecumenical Pongal festival in our college campus on 12.01.2016. In the
August presence of Dr.R. Nataraj, principal, and Dr.M. Srinivasan, Head of the Department,
Department of Tamil. Our NSS Officer, Dr.Kuppuswamy gave welcome address in the
program. And special food Sakara pongal was prepared and distributed to the students on
behalf of Tiruvannamalai, Vengikkal Rotary club. And Finally Prof.K.R.Arivuselvi, Program
Officer, NSS gave vote of thanks to everyone in the program.

A human chain has been organized as a part of Voters Awareness Program by our
District Collector and Election Commission department on 23-01-2016, around Arunachala
Temple, nearly 200 NSS students participated in this program.
As directed by the District Collector and Election Commission as a part of the Voters
Awareness program a pledge was administered by our College Principle Dr. Natraj. In this
program all H.O.Ds, NSS officers, teaching, non-teaching staff, our NSS students and all the
students were taken the pledge.
