The EPL Workshop in Dubai

Be part of the biggest ever European Research Fund through Horizon 2020
1 Oct 2015
Hosted at RTEX (Robotic Technology Exhibition)
The MENA regions only dedicated Robotics & Automation Exhibition!
At the MEYDAN CENTER | Sept 30 Oct 1, 2015

With a total budget close to 80 billion, Horizon 2020 is among the

biggest research programs worldwide. The EPL (European Project
Leaders Association) could be a way towards it.

Purpose

The Scope

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce Horizon 2020

as one of the biggest research and technology development
programs in the world and invite entities from MENA to be
part of this program.
By exchanging the information and introducing the
procedures entities will be familiar with the program so they
could start to find right partners to contribute to and join the
program. This could take place at any level - from
organizational level for Universities and Research Centers to
companies including SMEs, to individual level embracing
researchers, faculty members, and postgraduate students.

The objective is academic and industrial

engagement. The event is to introduce
Horizon 2020 including the concepts,
procedures and general program but not a
meeting to finalize the partnership
procedure. The expectation should be just
understanding Horizon 2020 and although
some entities could find right partner but it
is more limited to the robotic and industrial
technology area.

Deliverable

Objective
The main objective is Academic and Industrial engagement
while Europe and MENA could have more cooperation. It
can also help find relevant partners in some specific areas.
Having a larger number of participants and potential partners
in MENA is what the EU is interested in, i.e. increasing
number of researchers or organizations involved in projects.

Sharing the privileges of being involved in

Horizon 2020 program. Also the rules and
procedure and how to work together as a
consortium in H2020. More importantly
how to find the right partner for the next
calls and to enjoy and benefit from
working with them!

Outcome and Deliverable

Who should attend this workshop?

Companies who would like to use this opportunity
to strength their ties with leading entities that are
doing state of the art research in Europe could be
the sponsor.
From a different perspective, organizations such as
Universities can be updated on the latest
knowledge and information; research centers may
find right partners for collaboration, and companies
will be aware of the gap between their current
standing and state of the art technology!
