Structural Framework
This process allows for complex fault
relationships. This tool reduces the time
to model and improves the quality of your
geocellular grids.

Structural Framework: Geometry Definition

Before building a Structural framework, a
geometry must be defined. This is the input for
how the horizons, zones, and faults is populated
within the framework.
1. Open the Geometry definition
process from Processes pane >
Structural Framework.
2. Specify a name for the framework or choose a
framework to edit. Define the geometry or click
Get geometry from selected object.
3. Click OK. The new, empty framework is stored in
the Models pane.

Structural Framework: Fault Framework Modeling

The Structural framework can be populated with pre-existing faults. Input can be used
alone or combined with multiple input columns, including fault interpretations, polyline
sets, point sets, surfaces, or triangle meshes.
1. Open the Fault framework modeling process under Processes pane >
Structural framework.
2. Drop in fault input data into the
Input column. Click Multiple
drop in the table and drop in
all input data in one operation.
Highlight the data in the Input
pane and click the Blue arrow
next to the Input column. Click
OK to make the model.

Structural Framework: Horizon Modeling

3. The framework fault model is stored under the active model in the Models pane.
4. Run the Horizon modeling process located in the
Processes pane > Structural framework.

5. Drop in the number of rows equal to the amount of horizon input, e.g., surfaces
stored in the Input pane as input. Set horizon types and click OK. Results are
stored in the Horizons folder under the active model.

Structural Framework: Horizon Modeling

QC the Horizons in the display window. If satisfied, continue building the zones through
the Horizon modeling process.
6. Re-open the Horizon modeling process. Toggle ON Apply geological
rules and create zone model and click OK.

7. Visualize the zone model in the display window.

This process allows you to create a geocellular grid
than can be populated with properties at a later time.
