To: Writing Team

From: Connie Chan

Subject: Introducing Jeremy Currie as a possible team member

As needed, I have found a new employee that holds promising contributions to the team.
Jeremy Currie may have little experience with business writing but his determination and
willing to learn (which is built into his nature) makes him a valuable employee to WR
214. Not only will he be able to learn new techniques but with his difference in
experience, he could bring in new ideas of his own.

The ‘Jest’ On Jeremy Currie

Jeremy Michael Currie is a first-year resident here in Oregon and he hopes to pursue a
career in being a pharmacist. As most know, a career like that, is very labor-demanding,
intensive and requires much determination and commitment. It is expected that if he is
serious about becoming a Pharmacist, he must uphold an outstanding transcript, thus,
fellow employees at WR 214 can expect him to take his job seriously.

Where Experience is lacked, determination makes up for

With little prior experience with business writing and team work, this employee poses a
threat to other employee’s grades. He has done one research paper with a writing team in
the past, taken WR 121 in the fall, and written good rhetoric essays. He lacks business
skills and good group working experience and only knows the basics of writing such as
good vocabulary, sentence fluency, grammatical errors and expository.

However, he acknowledges these weaknesses and expresses great interest in perfecting

business writing skills. When asked, “why do you want to work for us?” He replied, “no
matter what field you choose to be in later on life, it is necessary to be able to write in a
clear, concise manner and do professional quality work.”

Hard working, responsible, giving

These were the adjectives he used to describe himself when asked and his history with
extra curricular activities proves it.

His career goals include graduating from OSU with a degree in pharmacy and finding a
comfortable workplace within a year of graduation. He is aware of the effort needed to
achieve this and has decided he can commit to the hard work.

In the past, he has volunteered with the elderly and been highly involved with boy scouts,
even going as far as becoming an Eagle Scout. He had no problem committing to his
baseball team and pursued a rank in being a center fielder. He graduated high school with
an outstanding GPA which required much self discipline and shows responsibility.

In the past, he has given up time in replacement for a better education. He has given up
strength and free time to give back to the community. There is no doubt in my mind that
he will give up time again to better the company and ultimately himself.
