Dear Parents,

MESSAGE OF THE WEEK

We would like to wish you all a happy half term break at the end of this week. School will close at the normal time
of 3.05pm for KS1 and 3.10pm for KS2 on Friday. I would very much like to encourage a rest following an exciting
nd
Christmas and busy half term of learning. We hope to see them refreshed on the 22 February.

APRIL

fun and engaging start to your childs education and a qualified teacher working as part of a highly skilled foundation
team. For more information please contact us on 01772 335065 and visit www.wldps.com (Macaw class). We look
forward to seeing you.
RD

WORLD BOOK DAY- 3

MARCH

We would love children to come dressed as a book character to celebrate their love of books and reading on this day.
To celebrate this event we are offering a theatre experience in school of Wind in the Willows for our infants and The
st
Secret Garden for our juniors on Tuesday 1 March. We would like all children who dress up as a character to bring in
1 to be spent on book resources and our theatre visitors.
MOTHERS DAY CRAFT
nd

For those children who have tickets to the Mothers Day Craft it will be held on Wednesday 2 March.
PARENTS EVENING
th

Parents Evening will be held on the 7 March 3.30pm till 7pm. Letters will be given out when children return to school
after the half term break.
RETURING STAFF
Mrs Wade will be returning following her maternity leave and teaching Year 3 alongside Mrs Ormerod. Mrs Bell will
also be returning to school teaching Year 6 working alongside Mr Bennett and Miss Keelan. We are very happy to have
them back with us.
ROBINWOOD PAYMENT
We would like to remind all Year 3 parents who wish their children to attend Robinwood in Year 4 that the deposit of
th
20 needs to be paid by the 26 February. We would encourage all parents to pay by Parent pay which is incredibly
quick and easy to use. Alternatively you can be by cash or cheques which are payable to LCC.
CHEERLEADING AND DANCE CLUBS
This Friday only Cheerleading will finish earlier at 4pm due to the Valentine disco being held in the KS2 hall. There will
nd
also be no Dance club after school on Monday 22 February due to staff training in KS2 hall.
SPECIAL LUNCHES
If you use Parent pay for school lunches - all Special Lunches should be paid under Lunch Payments but we would
ask that you please return the slip - Thank you.
CHOIR BLACKBURN CONCERT 9

TH

MARCH
th

A letter has been given to each choir member to give you full details of the concert being held on Wednesday 9
March. I am really delighted to see that almost all choir members have completed and return their slip to come to this
concert after all their hard work. This important information shows you how to obtain tickets for this wonderful

musical event. When booking, if you state your school name, they might be able to help you obtain a seat which has a
better view of your children performing. Our choir will be situated on the top right hand corner of the stage when you
are facing the staging.
