ITINERARY
Day 1 Nairobi – Tree hotel
You drive in the morning to your base hotel for lunch and then onto your Tree hotel for
the evening game watching, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Tree hotel - Rift Valley

Drive around the northern tip of the Aberdare Mountains and down the escarpment into
the Great Rift Valley for lunch, relax in the afternoon, swim, or enjoy a boat ride, bird
walk or game view, depending upon the lake visited. Dinner and overnight by a lake
hotel.

Day 3 Rift Valley – Masai Mara

Your Safari in Kenya continues across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the Masai
Mara Game Reserve for lunch, an afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight. The Mara
is one of Kenya’s most popular game reserves as most species of game found in the
country live in its well- watered plains.
Day 4 Masai Mara

Morning and afternoon Game drives to look for the’ big five’ with meals and overnight at
your lodge or camp.

Day 5 Masai Mara – Nairobi

6 DAYS MARA AND THE LAKES

ITINERARY

The safari takes us to the remote lake Bogoria, a birdwatchers and naturalists paradise.
Then back south to Lake Nakuru and over the Mau Escarpment to Masai Mara where the
largest concentration of game in Kenya is still to be found, elephant, zebra, wildebeest,
rhino, buffalo and the lion, just to name a few.

Day 01: Nairobi - Nakuru National Park


Depart Nairobi at 9.30 am stopping en route to view the spectacular Great Rift Valley.
You will have an opportunity to visit Hyrax hill and kariandusi. Arrive Nakuru in time
for lunch. Afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at Budget Hotel/Camp.

Day 02: Nakuru National Park - Lake Bogoria


Depart after breakfast for a full day tour of Lake Bogoria. Picnic lunch en-route. At Lake
Bogoria you will see the Hot Springs. Caution must be taken while walking nearby, as
these springs are super-hot. Flamingoes can be seen and the area can be explored on foot.
Return to Nakuru late evening. Dinner and overnight at Budget hotel/camp.

Day 03: Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Park


Depart Nakuru for Mara, after breakfast, via Mau Narok, a lush farming area and one of
the Highest points along the Rift Valley. We reach Mara in time for lunch. Afternoon
game drives. Dinner and overnight at our Private camp.

Day 04: Masai Mara National Park Full day


From our base camp we explore the different and varied regions of this spectacular
national park. The large windows of our minibus ensure excellent photography.

Day 05: Masai Mara National Park Full day


Full day game drives with a 3 hours Maasai hills walk. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 06: Masai Mara National - Nairobi


Leave after a sumptuous breakfast for Nairobi arriving lunchtime.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara


After breakfast, we will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel. Thereafter, depart for the
Masai Mara Game Reserve. You will have a spot at the viewpoint of the Great Rift
Valley and at Narok town for lunch then proceed for a game drive on arrival, tracking
various animal species and birds with your driver / guide. Dinner and an overnight stay at
the Lodge

Day 2: Masai Mara


Early breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. Masai Mara is
renowned for its high animal concentration and abundance. Black-maned lions, elephants
and buffalo can be seen (3 out of the big 5) though luck is essential for spotting leopard
and rhino, which make the other two. The reserve is essentially the northern extension of
Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and is home to numerous plains game including
wildebeest, common zebra and the Masai giraffe as well as antelopes like Thompson’s
gazelle, hartebeest, impala and dik dik among others. You will have a break for your
picnic lunch at the hippo pool where hippos are in view and with luck, crocodiles. Return
to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Masai Mara


Early breakfast followed by a game drive. The landscape here is scenic savannah
grassland on rolling hills; this reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an
extensive road and track network, which enables close range viewing and photography.
Lunch at the campsite. In the afternoon you will have a choice of three activities; a game
drive or an escorted nature walk with our armed Masai guides. At an extra cost you can
visit a local Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle. All activities end at the campsite
where you will retire for the night after dinner.

Day 4: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru


After breakfast depart Masai Mara for Nakuru to arrive in the late evening for dinner and
overnight at a campsite with lunch en-route. Depending on the time you depart from
Masai Mara, you can get here in time to do a short game drive so that Day 05, you depart
early morning for Amboseli via Nairobi. It is a very flexible day whereby our driver cum
guide wills liase with clients onboard to agree altogether on how to go.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Amboseli


After breakfast you will have a morning game viewing session in Lake Nakuru National
Park to view flamingos for the park which is famous, other water birds, various antelopes
and plains game, Cape buffalo, the Rothschild’s giraffe, baboons and with luck the rare
white rhino which is an endangered species. Drive to Nairobi for lunch then on to
Amboseli National Park for dinner and overnight at the Lodge, game drive en-route.

Day 6: Amboseli
A day of game drives in this park, which contains swamp grounds in which elephants and
hippos in abundance. A visit to the observation hill will follow where you will look out
for Mt. Kilimanjaro peak if weather conditions permit. A variety of plains game,
antelopes and birds can be also be seen. You will have a lunch and leisure break at the
campsite in the mid afternoon. Rest of meals and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 7: Amboseli - Nairobi


After breakfast, proceed for your final game drive. An early lunch will be taken then
depart for Nairobi in the evening.

7 days Kenya lodge safari to Samburu, Mount Kenya, and Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara
Game Reserve. This is a Private Safari departing with a minimum of 2 persons - we do
not mixed groups.

This 7 days safari features three major reserves in Kenya; namely Samburu National
Reserve, Lake Nakuru National Park and Maasai Mara Game Reserve, and gives you the
opportunity to stay overnight in a tree hotel at Mount Kenya Area - the Serena Mountain
Lodge.

The Samburu National Reserve, located about 220 miles north of Nairobi is relatively
small, covering an area of only 104 square km with a unique landscapes of rounded and
rugged hills and undulating plains. Small herds of elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard,
cheetah and plains game are present but a special feature of this Reserve are the various
species of game unique to these northern parks - Beisa oryx, the long necked gerenuk,
Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe and the blue shanked Somali ostrich. The leopard is
often seen.

Lake Nakuru is one of the greatest world’s famous bird spectacles with over 400 bird
species besides the flamingoes that carpet the lake. Many species of game can be found in
the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion,
buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.

Masai Mara Game Reserve on the other hand is Kenya's most spectacular of all Kenyan
parks and reserves, and here you have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five - lion,
leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. The Reserve covers an area of 700 square miles and
forms part of the Serengeti ecosystem and hence hosts the world famous spectacle of the
annual migration of up to two million wildebeest, thousands of zebra and an escort of
carnivores from the Serengeti plains, following the rains and succulent new grass.

Day 1: Nairobi/Samburu
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through central Kenya and north across the
equator to Samburu National Reserve arriving Samburu Serena Lodge in time lunch.
Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge.
Approx Transit time: 5 hrs

Day 2: Samburu
Full day in Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Samburu is a
beautiful and and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa
Oryx, Grevy's zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Optional
activites include a visit to a local Samburu village, camel riding and guided nature and
bird walks. All meals and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge.

Day 3: Samburu - Mountain Lodge


Depart Samburu after breakfast and drive to the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya arriving
Serena Mountain Lodge (tree hotel) in time for lunch. Relax the afternoon away as you
watch game from the balcony with an optional guided nature walk. Overnight floodlit
game viewing - Mountain Lodge rightfully boasts of having the highest record of animal
visits and sightings in the area. Dinner and overnight..

Day 4: Mountain Lodge - Lake Nakuru


Depart Mountain Lodge in the morning and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley - to Lake
Nakuru National Park making a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. Arrive Sarova
Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive.
Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of
birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the
introduced Rothschild\'s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion,
buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara
Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to
Maasai Mara arriving Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner
and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6: Maasai Mara


Spend the day in Maasai Mara, Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you will
have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five - lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and
elephant.
Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend
entire day in the the park, or you can choose to have early morning and late afternoon
game drives. You will also have the option of visiting a local Maasai village (US$20 per
person).
All meals and overnight Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 7: Maasai Mara - Nairobi


Another early morning game drive in Mara, then depart after breakfast and drive back to
Nairobi arriving approx 13:00hrs. Drop at your hotel or transfer to the airport for onward

ITENERARY

Day 1: Nairobi - Masaai Mara


Leave Nairobi for a drive south to stop at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. After
the breathtaking view, proceed to Narok town for lunch then to Masaai Mara arriving for
an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Masaai Mara


After breakfast, spend a full day enjoying the best that nature can provide in this game
reserve taking your picnic lunch at the Hippo pools return to the campsite for dinner and
overnight.

Day 3: Masaai Mara


Morning game-drive in the game reserve with the optional nature walk or a visit to the
Masaai village at a small fee in the afternoon ( Optional ) meals and overnight at the
lodge.

Day 4: Masaai Mara - L. Naivasha


After breakfast and morning game drive, head to Naivasha arriving in time for lunch and
a visit to the Hell’s Gate Park.

Day 5: L. Naivasha - L. Nakuru


After breakfast, drive to Nakuru for game viewing and a sight of millions of Flamingos
among other birds about 350 species recorded.This is also home to the black and the
white Rhinoceros. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6: NAKURU -SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE


After breakfast, drive northwards past Mt. Kenya to Samburu, after lunch do a game
drive in search for animals such as reticulated giraffes, grevy zebra, blue legged ostrich
among others. Dinner and overnight are at the lodge.

DAY 7: SAMBURU
Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. After breakfast another game drive.
After lunch relax since Samburu is very hot you can swim in one of the lodges, and then
proceed for the late evening game drive, dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Day 8: SAMBURU –Nairobi


Early morning game drive then come for breakfast, after which you will drive to Nairobi
arriving in the evening to the air port for on words flight back home
