Have you ever watched all of Indonesias TV programs? If you have watched
them all, what do you think? In your opinion, how many TV programs that gave you
good and bad effects? Well, in my opinion, recently Indonesias TV programs present
some shows that do not educate people. There are too many shows that give us bad
effects and it is also useless.
Approximately Indonesia has 11 National TV channels, such as RCTI, SCTV,
Trans TV, Trans 7, Indosiar, TVRI, MNCTV, AnTV, MetroTV, TV One, and Global TV.
From these channels, there are only two channels that show full of information
programs. How about the others? Well, mostly they show TV programs which do not
educate like serial drama, quiz, infotainment, musical events, and reality show.
Mostly, national TV channels that broadcast serial drama, quiz, infotainment,
musical events, and reality show with a duration of hours. While educational events
such as a talk show about education or history, or quizzes about general knowledge,
only lasted for 1-2 hours and others only 30 minutes. Televisions program which
should be a room for information and give education for society is walking out of
their essence now. Nowadays they are broadcasting some shows that do not
educate society and leaning people become grumbler, dreamer, and wishing for
something happen instantly.
National TV channel often showing about celebritys lifestyle which glamour
and fabulous. It is quite ironic because Indonesia is still considered with its high
percentage of poverty. Moreover, the other TV programs contain some harmful thing
for people to watch. Do you know how I describe those TV programs?
For the serial drama, sometimes it shows some bad behavior, humans right
abuses, violations of societys moral value, glamour and hedonic life, and
sometimes misleads of religion. How about the infotainment? Well, it always
exaggerated some news for days and it could leads to defamation. And for quiz,
musical events, and reality show, well, I never get the benefits from those. It was
just entertained for me. They show us how the celebrities got fun with their money.
So, are they going to educate the society?
Who the most got the disadvantages from these TV programs are children
and teenagers. Because most of them watching television for spending their spare
time. At their age, they should be more focus for their education. But with the
existent of those TV programs, then this could be have negative impact on their
moral and character. While they should broadcast some useful events for children
and teenagers.

How about the future of this nation, when the televisions have been far and
away from the essence of an educational nature. Because televisions now can be
ascertained affect the behavior of the audience, either in the form of physical or
psychological. Reason is the people of Indonesia are still underdeveloped of
education. All they need is anything that educates to develop their mindset.
