FEE EXEMPTIONS 2016

Application forms for school fees exemption will be available from Monday, 8th
February 2016. Please collect an application form, in person, from the school Finance Office.

CORRECT SPORTS PE KIT

Learners are to come to their PE lessons dressed in the correct BPS Sports Kit: Blue
Shorts, Blue and white golf shirt and takkies. Colour house shirts may only be worn
when there is an interhouse sporting activity and the learners have been instructed to wear them.

JMPD SAFETY
Two officers from the JMPD have on
various occasions come to the school to
monitor the traffic situation and congestion outside the school. They visited us
on Monday, 1 February to monitor our
Scholar Patrol team as well as the flow of
traffic on Mount Street. They have taken
it upon themselves to do random visits to
the school.
There is a clear sign in Mount Street saying No Turning Right for traffic trying to enter the parking bays (driving from Grosvenor). This section becomes
congested when parents try to enter this area. Please note
that Bryanston Primary will not be held responsible for
fines that parents receive from the JMPD and that any fine
that is handed out should be dealt with directly with City
of Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department.

CAR SEAT FOR KIDS CAMPAIGN

Our Scholar Patrol team are still actively collecting used car seats. We would like to
thank our Bryanston parents who have donated their used car seats to our campaign
YOU have made a difference! We would like to make an appeal to any parents
who still have any old car seats lying at home to donate them to our campaign. We
are working in conjunction with Wheel Well to make a difference in someones life.
Please donate all unwanted car seats and we will hand them over to Wheel Well
who will clean and fix these seats. Donated car seats are distributed to low income
families. Please deliver unwanted baby and toddler car seats in at reception with
your name, surname and e-mail address! We thank all parents for their continued
support. Remember: Road Safety is everybodys responsibility! Together, we can
make a difference!

MYSCHOOL RESULTS - 2015

HAVE YOU LOCKED YOUR CAR?

Criminals loiter in parking lots or sit in vehicles and
over-ride your remote signal as you click and casually walk away.
You may think youve locked your car but it is
still open.
When youre away, items of value are swiftly removed.
No broken glass, no forced entry and no insurance payout.

TIPS TO AVOID BEING A VICTIM

Store all items in your boot, but dont pack away
in full view of the criminals lurking in the parking lots.
Lock your car with your key, or if you must use
electronic means physically check the doors
before leaving.
Prevent Smash & Grabs by keeping seats and
floor clear of valuables when driving and by
keeping all doors locked.
Keep your windows closed at intersections.
Continually check that you are not being followed.
Be aware be safe.

Karen Langley was the guest speaker at the Parents
Information Session on 15th January 2016. She is an
ex-pupil of Bryanston Primary and is currently a writer
and publisher of childrens books. Her books range

EASTER TIME IS HERE!

Once again its that time of year - the time to spread a little cheer and happiness to those less fortunate.
To do this we will be collecting Marshmallow Easter eggs for the following charities this term:
Topsy Foundation;
Ikholwa;
Ethembeni Childrens Home; and
Germiston Children Welfare.
Please help this initiative by donating a box of marshmallow Easter eggs.
Boxes will be collected by register teachers.
Please note that the collection ends on Friday, 11 March 2016.
